Super Jet Some new variations of existing billet porn...

It's all good bud, I'm always looking for input.

It will be absolutely, it will certainly need to be ocean tested.

I oringed the lexan and it will use a doubler plate. Everything will be flush to the face minus the mounting hardware.

No price yet, won't be significantly more than my other covers.
I'll test one out for you, send me a pm with a price once you have one ready to go

Thanks for the cool words, I only made 10 and scrapped 2 in the development process. I was thinking it wouldn't be that popular.

I didn't want to be stuck sitting on them. I have bar stock for kawis, maybe I should just turn them into these instead.

Nice looking cover!

Looking at the CNC and the tool holders in the cart it looks like your using a 40 taper CNC of some type (looks like a VMC), do you mind saying what model your using?

(I'm just a curious Tool & Die Maker who's run a range of 3 axis VMC's myself)

Im not sure if this is possible but have you considered cutting a thread in the ally cover so you can use those inspection ports you buy for boats.
They screw in and are made from clear plastic. They have there own seal on them as well. It would mean you can just unscrew the cover instead of using the bolts.
It would make it better I think as your less likely to crack the cover from over tightening the bolts.

The great thing about what your doing is you will see a potential issue like a leaking seal before it gets to bad

Mike,

I have two HAAS VF 4's and a Mori Seiki AL20. I just took delivery of my second VF4 in late Feb, this one has a 40 tool magazine(hense the empty cart) and has a direct drive spindle and runs 8100RPM's. I really like it, it is much quieter with no belts.

I've read that the combination of Chinese wages rising so fast (average wage increase of 17% per year currently) and higher fuel costs for shipping is finally driving massive amounts of manufacturing back to the USA. I can believe that because the shop I work for is a metal stamper (punch presses exerting up to 8.8 Million pounds of stamping force) and we're so busy that we've had to turn away multiple 10's of millions of dollars of work already this year!

Having recently purchased another CNC I would imagine your feeling the benefits of the 'Made in the USA' resurgance as well - do you focus exclusively on aftermarket parts for the Powersports Industry?
