Mediator Time:

Individuals who do not receive what they contract for have full right to be upset when there is a breach. These individuals have further right to be upset, when they take measures to correct the breach, are given additional promises, and then are let down once again. This is a normal human reaction, disgruntlement. If you fault them for this, it is hypocritical by most standards at best.

On the other hand, the other party has now stepped in, attempting to diffuse the situation, offering his personal email account for feedback as well as resolution of problems. This is noble in this day and age and should be respected, simply due to the fact that customer service rarely exists in the world any longer sadly. Opportunity should be afforded to him personally for this reason, to make things right (and probably then some), as they should have been in the first place.

End of story there really.

As for getting what you want in the magazine, patience and a positive attitude (this includes toward two/three seater skis) are virtues which many on this site lack (on both sides of the above issue). Speaking your mind should never be faulted either way...expressing your needs is necessary…simply learn to do it effectively…ALL OF YOU!

....if you guys want to see more standup coverage, throw down some insane stuff and get some killer shots..they will run it :veryhappy:

You mean like the less than quarter page that Pierre Maixent got in Ride for his double backflip???

That was disappointing.

editor@whatever_it_is.com is NOT a personal email address. bob@whatever_it_is.com would be a personal email address.

(for wydopen - it is $65+20%=$78/7=$11.14/issue, and if you can't understand that, you shouldn't be driving a PWC in the first place).

It appears the majority on this site desire the same thing, regardless of minor disagreements: an increased amount of positive exposure in the magazine. Obvious to most, we must exhibit positive behavior for the desired result to have further potential. If an individual has useful suggestions/opinions, or is need of problem resolution, Mr. Shaw has graciously stated his door is open for further discussion, and has provided a proper means of direct contact. I’m getting ready to go ride, and hopefully many of you are as well…have fun/be safe!

Sorry to disappoint, but editor@watercraft.com is my only email address. They asked me when I was hired over two years ago if I wanted "kevin@watercraft.com" and I declined, not wanting to check two different accounts.

But, if more is what you want, here's the rest:

And yes, all of you who have been burned by our dusty subscription service (or lack thereof) department have all the right in the world to be upset. And since word of mouth has so much power, I'm personally stepping in to fix what I can.

And for those capable, please come by our booth at the OC Boat Show (Anaheim Convention Center) today and hunt me down. We can talk face-to-face and you can check out the '09 SX-R we have on display. I was there all day yesterday too, and watched "The Addiction" like three times...

It’s my personal opinion you should use it, if you have a point to make; it was respectfully offered to you for that purpose. (Now if you are just joking around, I’m going to declare you guilty of a homosexual conspiracy, simply for fun!)

What drugs are you on and why aren't you sharing?

Mr. Shaw, your response is highly commendable and appreciated; if more people took your personal approach to problems in life, there would be far less negativity in the world. You will discover this site to be full of intense, expressive, and unique personalities; what many do with their skis would be far less extreme, thereby less interesting or worthy of print otherwise. Thank you for the exposure you have given the scene thus far, and welcome to the X! You will learn much here, make many friends, and I hope we ride together one day.

John, your leadership qualities in taking the initiative to create this thread and express yourself, assisted the stand-up scene overall in gaining an even wider door of access to PWI. Due to your actions, there is hope for an increase in exposure as time progresses and relationships are further forged. Additionally, you have successfully assisted the magazine with your feedback, thus benefiting everyone in general …props Sir.

The Good Old Days
I was a subscriber for some years and I too was hit with the phantom issues.

It was a good magazine but over the years it got thinner and thinner to the point that it started looking like a pamphlet. It's a shame as I always preferred print over a computer screen. IMO, pictures need to be on paper. What used to pi$$ me off the most was when a picture was printed in the smallest size possible (I guess to save space) right next to a half page add. I understand that it's the adds that pay the bills but why even bother printing a thimble size picture ? Leave it out all together and add more text or better yet, do the picture justice.

The couch world is the driving force in the industry so it would be insane not to cater to it but an old school section would be nice.

Anyway, I might check the mag out again if I see it on a stand somewhere local.
