Today was kinda poopty. I got the hood seal installed, and the hood is short, so it sits back from the seal up front. Never noticed till now, and it explains why i was having so much water get into the bilge. Ive added some foam to the hood to seal it up nice. I also found out my SJ crank has a bad bearing, so im sourcing a crank from a friend last minute. Second half of the pipe is half polished, almost all the parts going back in are cleaned and ready to install. Pulled my spare motor from my waverunner and its got a noisy crank too.. So i now have 3 cranks here that need to be overhauled. Great.. Let the hull and nose cure in the sun today for a few hrs to speed things up. Building the motor tomorrow at a friends, then bolting on the accessories and it will get dropped in probably friday morning. Wed im taking off to see my better half.

Need to: (yellow is if i have extra time)
Cut, rivet and glue pole
Vinyl wrap pole (white)
Build motor
Install pole
install pump
install motor (I saved my shims locations so hoping to save some time there)
hook up primer lines (need to get primer line)
hook up cooling lines (have it)
run heated grips lines (need barb fittings)

so far, still within sight! :)

never a good sight..

found a minty 61x wheel inside this old girls motor. Not bad for a early 90's waverunner LX.

Last two days... Pumps also in but not pictured. Not much left to do tomorrow thankfully.

first did the pole. Took out 2.5" roughly, to match the hood line real well. if i want more, its easy enough i can see.

was missing the backing plates too!

inserts are in. I ran a tap through all the inserts and a die across all bolts so everything is silky smooth.

and motor is mocked in place.

I also ghetto vinyl wrapped my RN pole white as ive run out of time before the freeride to paint it or deal with stripping the stock stickers. Ill probably run it like this all season as long as the vinyl lasts.

Starting to look like a complete ski.

And in return for helping out a buddy he gave me a 701 surf switch, or whatever you call em. Pretty neat little thing! I was expecting them to have a billet bracket instead of injected plastic though.

Braaap! Its together and tuning/fiddling is taking place this weekend! Had it running well enough last weekend to take it out for a test, but it was hesitating. Its close now! the 701 feels real strong even at stock psi with all the bolt ons and the pole is perfect length i think.

Glad you got it all dialed in.
You and me both! We swapped in a 140 main saturday night before you took off, and its 10 fold better already. Might have to go to a 145, we will see. Im currently wondering if the 120P is a little lean. Headed out to burlington lakeshore sunday to test/tune with the CWA guys.

Was that a 46 SBN? What were you at originally?

yep sbn46. We started at a 150m 120p 2.0 n/s 95g spring. That was hesitating pretty bad, so i dropped to a 135 main (stock 61x main) to get a baseline, and it bogged with the high 2.5 out. That night we went to a 140 and at 1.5 out i can feel its close. I ran out of tuning time last weekend so ill spend sunday playing with it.

im thinking of bringing the pilot up to a 125, but ill see where its at this weekend.

Good to know, my engine porter has me running 135main, 117.5p on 61x/61x with 46 sbn, sounds a bit low IMO but i will find out when i get on the water monday.

Yes that sure does. The 135 had mine bogging bad enough i couldnt stand up. bone stock 61x motor run a 135 main 120p i believe.

Bogging or hesitating? Bogging is rich, hesitation is lean. I will ask again maybe he just gave me stock numbers..
