SXR Stand up pulling a tuber

Yes it is dangerous and he was to close to the dock. I agree but so is a jet ski going 20ft away from two boats and I never hear anyone complaining about V wake videos. We have a 150ft rule here in NH so thats illegal too. Most everything fun is illegal. Lighten up guys.

Haters gonna hate. Definitely not illegal where I'm at. I'm glad to hear some other people's funny stories of pulling tubers and skiers on here haha. I can't even imagine pulling a wakeboarder behind a standup. I've pulled wakeboarders behind an ultra 150 and even with that heavy ski, the boarder was able to pull the side out on me.

I'm not sure how commenting on an illegal and dangerous activity that makes our sport look bad is hating?

Pretty sure you have to have an observer, aside from that, you have to have to be able to legally carry the person you are towing on your vessel. So, if you had a two seater, one driver, one observer, that would still be illegal because there is not enough room for the person you are towing.

I've done some dumb things before, towing people in the boat with out an observer which was justified in my mind because we live on the lake and it was quiet out.
But, your getting bashed on potentially killing or severely injuring your brother by being reckless and coming very close to the docks. Even if the tube wasn't going to hit, any tuber know that when you fall on those sharp turnes your usually skipping across the water, in this case into a stationary dock. Not smart my man.

Aside from that, looks like fun but Ill save it for the boat or a supercharged sh!tdown lol

Actually, it IS illegal in Alaska. Take a look at SL12 and SL17 here--> http://www.boater101.com/Course/documents/AK/AKstatelaws.pdf :dunce:

Well played sir. Nice find. Glad you have so much extra time on your hands that you can go hunting around on the internet finding random laws to call people out on. How often do you think that is actually enforced on my lake? I'll tell you, NEVER. There's over 3,000 lakes in AK. This one has one of the smallest populations. You're lucky if you find another human period, let alone a cop.

I realize this was a bad idea in retrospect. I won't mob that hard close to shore ever again. I would have been devastated if anything had happened to my little brother. Life ruined. Thankfully it didn't, and I am grateful for that. Nonetheless, I think we can all agree that we can look back at this and both laugh and learn from it. Entertainment no? Isn't that part of what these forums are about? Thank you to all the guys who are replying to this thread logically.

glad this isn't turning into an anonymous online flame war.

snowxr actually did you a favor by informing you of a law in your state that you weren't even aware you were breaking... and he gets bashed for having too much time on his hands...

also "illegal" because your within 200 feet of a dock. got a ticket sunday $187 for going with in 200 feet of another boat. what bugs me is the other boat came into my line, but dnr says its my responsibility to maintain the distance cause im the smaller more manuverable craft. i have been warned 2 times before actually getting the fine so i should have avoided and i guess i knew it was "illegal". stay safe have fun bend some rules but except the penalties

meh. Plenty of things we do are illegal.
100ft away from other boats? Pffft, I'm often less than 5 ft away. Cops would have a chit fit if they saw that.

The close proximity to the dock would be the only real concern to me.

Everyone on this site rides illegally, so as long as your not hurting anyone have fun.

I couldn't agree more. And I'm totally digging the v wake comment. I never really thought about how dangerous and illegal those are. I've never seen this much flame over those. I guess stand up riders hate tubers as much as couches haha

We had a tuber drown last saturday in our regular ride spot, no life jackets on (entire boat), no spotter, and riding close to the shoreline. I see skiers pull tubers without spotters all the time and shake my head when I go by them. If they stop long enough I'll tell them they are going to get a hefty ticket if the DNR catches them...

Rules are in place for a reason becuase accidents do happen. And yes we all do things illegal when out there but (hopefully) most of us are wearing our life jackets, helmets when riding hard and following the buddy system.

I could care less about it being illegal. Trust me I have done dumber and more illegal things on a jetski. My point is I have seen this go wrong and it was tragic. As my father likes to yell at me "YOU HAVE THE WHOLE LAKE TO PLAY ON".
PS I think you could have beat him up better you need tow practice. Call me when you knock both of your sisters contacts out. HAHA

They weren't made for aerials, wave jumping, wake jumping, hood tricks, fountain, and all the other shenanigans, either.
