Thanks guys. The guy I bought it from put a shorter link in the rear because he was a short guy. He lowered the bike 2 inches which I need to remove and bring it back up, otherwise its fun to ride. Oh and the wheelie thing?? hmmm I dont think so. I allready drug my foot down one of the white pieces of plastic and made a black mark. Yea I was bitchin like a lil girl.

Oh and I need to replace the aftermarket grips the guy put on it. They stick out past the end of the bar about 1/2 inch. If anyone can use em you can have em. The guy gave me the stock grips, and link.

So you bought a sissy bike? lol JK. I saw a vid somewhere of one of the top Pro riders wearing out a Honda 650.

ps

No Wing/No prayer!!!

hmm Im more of a sissy than the bike is in traffic around here. Oh wait your talking about my big bore Zuma. hahaha

'07 Pig!

Here's a pict of my BRP. The flash hides some of the scratches in the side. When I got it last march it looked pristine, never even seen dirt... 3k miles later it looks like someone wire brushed it!
I want some USD's for it!

Bluff, Thanks for the advise on the Carb up grade. I will keep my eye out for one. One day Im going to have to move up to that larger clark tank. Getting fuel every 80 miles is a PITA. I only use my bike as a work comuter. When I switched over to the 609's I was amazed how much better my XR drove on the streets.
I guess I need to sell my Zuma, I never ride it anymore.

Yea the XRL would seem much more fun than a Zuma! The larger tanks are nice. You will get used to the look after a week or so.

I want that CRFX front end.

^^ They used to have DS kits for 2 stroke bikes like the RMX. Man I loved my '93 RMX, that thing was pimp... had it when I was 16, 140 pounds I was... talk about some power.

I just repacked and adjusted my steering head bearings on my XRL with Mobil 1 grease and flushed the forks, then refilled with 10 wt. Bel-ray fork oil, went with 125mm for the oil level and all my head shake at speed went away. I just cranked her up to 105 and she was rock steady... and that's with 14/45 gearing.... Those FCR MX carbs scream. I imagine I could bury the needle with stock 15/45 sprockets, not going to try though, today was more than enough to see if the handling improved.

I just put my stock tank back on in preparation for some awesome tough trails in South Arkansas and I must say I will have a tough time putting the Clarke 4.7 back on. The bike feels much more nimble. I don't mind filling up every week, but 170 miles between top offs and not touching reserve was nice.

Here's some footage on the Pig on my new/used GP2 a few weeks ago.

The Keihin FCR-MX 40 was the best mod to date.

I changed the bike up a bit. New Renthal CR bars, 2.5" risers, 17" Warp 9 wheels and awesome tires. New Supermoto front fender. I had to space out the fender to clear the wire loom. New mirrors. I have a seat concept seat for it but not installed yet. I had to remount the Vapor and It came out pretty well using come aftermarket chrome mirror mounts. I ended up with some 2008 CRF450X forks, CRFX hub, and laced up an excel rim, which wasn't hard do do, even with my HFT balance stand and dial indicator.
You gotta look into the FCR-MX 40, from a '07 or newer CRF250.
I put the pro link out of an '88 XR600R, to raise the rear so the bike will be more aggressive, or less chopped out and give me 4 grease fittings on the rear suspension.

Where have you been Bluff? Your late, I didnt want used showa shocks, ive had new OHLINS USD on my bike now for about a month. With the seat concepts seat the thing is more than high enough for me. Here is a pic just after I put them on along with RSH triple clamps and risers.

I have since torn it all back down and in the process of powder coating the front and rear brake calipers along with anything else I could unbolt and get in the oven this week. Ill finish some other coating after new years. I also sent the header to have it Ceramic coated, I didnt want polish but went with Titanium.
Im looking for a different rear tail light and get rid of the brick like you did, but want something a lil larger.
Did you slot out the chain guard on your bike or was it allready slotted, I thought about doing that since the guard is plastic.
Oh I machined some axle spacer sleeves to cover the ugly axle and spacers, also protecting the bearing seal.

I got the bike back together. Ceramic and powder coating really looks good. Now I have to work on that brick of a tail light.
