since the water goes in through the exhaust manifold and out through the head, you want the cooling outlets on the head to be on the carb side of the engine, to properly cool the cylinders.

the bolt pattern is symmetrical but the water flow isnt. newB mistake indeed, but not like threatening. id still change it though.

Sounds logical.

You will never look back!! Good luck deciding though:Eyecrazy:...a lot of killer choices!!!

I dont doubt it. I know i wanna go with a SS 865 but as far as the hull goes... they are all sweet. Ill thrash the Pro for a couple seasons and save up some $ and then build up the custom piece by piece and keep the Pro as a backup.

Thanks! :bananalama:

I wonder why the SXR is setup with the water outlets on the exhaust side then?

No need to get it all off. just sand it starting with 80 grit and work your way up to 200 or 400 grit. Then primer followed by a light scuff with the 400 grit then color. make sure you clean the surface good before spraying any paint on it.

alright sounds like a good plan i'm going the cheap route with appliance epoxy spray cans but i want to make it look ok and i want to practice good prep work for future skis

also did you do anything special where the gelcoat had been worn through on the bottom or just paint over it. I am thinking of repairing the damage to my hull because it just keeps getting worse. i am not gonna rebuild/paint the entire bottom i just want to protect those areas

on the bottom i just sanded with 80 then 150 and filled any heavy scratches with epoxy resin. i used the appliance epoxy paint on the bottom. if u are using that leave the surface semi rough so it has a good base to stick to. no primer needed.

thanks. i believe the color is whatever shade of metallic gray comes on a VW GTI . not sure of the name

it comes in a spray paint can and you can pick it up at either lowes or home depot. make sure u wear a mask and spray in a well ventilated place cus it creates a cloud when u spray it

didnt have to bend anything. just cut the side of the spring that leans against the pole. the spring is too long to fit into the ac pole so i cut it just before the bend. i put a piece of the kawi rubber on the cut end and it works good

Awesome tips to this Newb . Would the epoxy paint work well on the top of the hull?
