i have to give watercraft factory their due, these hulls seem to have more room to work on inside the engine bay than on a stock, even mounting the electrical box seemed easier than on a stock hull...

the turf on the front doesnt look to bad man. i think its a good idea you did that because i didnt want to be there the first time she hit the doc

i bang up skis all the time.. you know im accident prone, so it would be first ride out, before i even started the ski in the water than i would hit the nose off something

i wish it would melt quicker! waters still cold.. but i have a dry suit :Banane35:

man i just offered up the limited b-pipe... that extra length really makes it a bytch to fit!

think ill have to cut down the elbow into the water box.. hopefully that gives me enough!

now i can see why people struggle to fit that pipe into a rickter

which way around did you have the elbow, there is a short and long side right now (from using with a mod chamber), if i put long side onto the water box there is no way in the world it will ever fit, and then i also dont have anything i can cut of the short end as the pipe woulnt have enough material to engage

right now im thinking the existing short side of the elbow goes onto the water box and like you say cust about an inch off.. it looks like i may even need to cut a little more off cos of the team scream stinger mod..

and man.. even getting the chamber into the ski with the motor in was painful.. i had to invent some new curses :censored:

TBM pump cone: I was told by a wiase man that they should be sealed with silicone or something, otherwise water gets in between the pump hub and cone causing loss of thrust/cavitation.

Beautiful boat.

Amen.

interesting, those cones go on pretty tight, i wouldnt have thought it would cause an issue, not mention of it in the installation instructions...

i have to pull the pump off again to finish the trim so ill take a look

I'd call tim, the R&D said to silicone it, but after a few months most of it tore out of mine. Not sure if it made a difference or not. I would call him on it though.

i seem to have come to grinding halt... i cant make my mind up between the 550 tank and stock sj tank... both have pros and cons

550 Tank

pros

good size
low profile

Cons

Pain to fit (have to heat to fit around mod chamber, and needs to be packed vertically so i can secure)
Battery needs to be relocated, looking at making some brackets at it wont fit between tank and motor

SJ Tank

Pros

Battery Location Stays the same
Strapping is easier

Cons

Big Tank
Tight fit once Mod chamber is in, will make removing everything a Pain
Need to do internal fill

torn right now

tried starting the ski today...

wouldnt start...

all i got was a click... just got a click

changed the battery, used jumpers from my van... swaped out the relay

checked all connections

finally pulled the starter, connected it directly to the battery and nothing

bought a aftermarket starter in august.. paid around $120... last ride was in october

will be ordering an OEM starter tomorrow

my oem on my 04 lasted me around 5 years, and to be honest was probably still ok as i had some electrical issues last year and swapped everything out trying to track it down only for it to be the ring gear on the flywheel slipping

aftermarket... lasted around 2 months.....

i hate aftermarket starters they are crappy, the oem is made by mitsuba the only way to go, i had the same issues 3 years ago bought oem never a issue, everybody else with those imitation ones like on ebay had problems, your nice engine and ski deserves the best

OEM is the only way, you can go rebuilt OEM, which we are offering now, but you still have chinese bearings, seals, and brushes, with the OEM Japanese Mitsuba case, rotor and stator. So far they have been working for 2 years +, we just had two more done recently, one in stock. I'd love to find OEM parts and use those to rebuild, but then you are over 200+ bucks. We will be offering a middle of the road between junk and OEM.
