i would like to know where i can get a 800 motor for 1500, last quote i got was 2000.

This is not the time of year that you can find them for sale. Wait a couple of months and they will come up all over the place. I bought a junker ski to get a motor and I paid $1,500.00 for the whole ski. Parted it out and net cost was around $900.00. I see gp 800 on ebay going for 1500 - 2000 quite often. If you really want one, you might have to buy one and part it out, just to keep the motor.

I replaced the head with a R&D head that runs at 180 PSI. I put 48 Novi's on it with gas power valves. It is scary to ride. I also am using a cart tank. The only problem with a cart tank is that it wants to move around in the ski. Also you have to check your gas more often. You don't get much chance to make it back to shore to fill up. Not much warning when it runs out your just out and swiming it back to shore.

The 2nd problem is no body is making the head any more. Hard to find. That is what prompted Jeff to make his head. I was looking for a head and RIVA quit making there billet heads for the GP ski's. Not engough demand. This was over a year ago, so somthing might have changed. I lucked out and SuperRamjet had a head that he was selling.

Gas powervales work real good. They sell for around $320.00.
You don't have to use a fuel pump, but I found out that it works real good with one. The ski wants to jump up out of the water and you need a constant stream of gas. Not much more money for the added performance.

927 motor

Hey Jeff, why don't you post a pick or two of my 927 motor and explain what it takes to go from a stock 800 ski to the next step up. Detail out what cylinders to look for and what the cost is to have them bored and plated. List out what is involved.

Some guys might want to just skip the stock 800 and hit the big time. I think some will be supprised at what little it cost to have a very powerfull motor compared to the 701 based motor being built today.

My parents GP800 is sitting in my driveway. I wonder if they would notice the motor missing all winter?

Take it out and replace it with a 760 motor. They will never know the differnce. I have seen this done when the motor is bad.

guess what happened here. this is the best way to get a cheap motor

Thats not fair. You get all the inside deals. You are hooked up to a real good source, more than the average guy is.

I justed posted on CoreyLKN reponse that I had seen a 760 motor put into a GP800. I didn't want to say who would do such a thing.

That is awsome! I am starting to be sold on the 66e motor for a low budget big power flatwater boat.... of course I HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH IDOK THOUGH.... 22lbs is alot of extra weight. IMO... but yes power to weight you still have a huge advantage over a 701 motor... Id like to ride one, for comparison to my TLR 780cc flattop, I am so impressed with the performance of my setup.... but that there eight hunge looks like it comes out the water much higher then my setup.

For surf, I would not run this setup... to much extra weight, for power that you dont need for surf. IMO....

hi, i work for the ski clinic in antioch CA, the pics that i have up are of a stock superjet hull but with the help of WATERDAWG KUSTOMS im able to install a GP 800. with the use of WATERDAWG's manifold, pipe, engine mounts, and intake manifold the install is easy.

a 62t 701 is 81mm X 68mm stroke...... a 66e is 80mm X 78mm stroke ok ok if
that is 10mm over a 62t

that is not imprssive just take a look at the transfers in the cylinders of the 66e they are huge!!!! and thats stock!!! not even the ADA cyl have them that big...

there is sooo much area to grow into and you can make it big!!!

i would like to thank Jeff at WATERDAWG KUSTOMS for his help with my project

cheap HP.
