would be a silly argument that squarnose superjets are just as strong as a roundnose.
the metton(plastic) top deck is extremely flexible and brittle, will crack and split much easier that the hand laid fiberglass top deck of the roundnose. the rn has much more aftermarket parts, used parts and is easier to reinforce for abuse. when you are learning big aerial tricks you are going to want something that will hold up and the sn is just not a great platform for that.
sorry for all the square lovers out there, just trying to give this guy some info.

Where abouts are u from batesy?? I would def say save a little more and buy a rn. Also squares aren't that common or easy to come across in aus.

While I agree with the rest, this line doesn't seam quite right.
Other than hood kits, what other RN specific parts are out there that don't work on SN's ???

maybe the word much was misplaced, i was thinking how many options you have of hoods and poles.

LOL

Poles are out as well so all you RN riders have going for you are the AM hoods and nose pieces.
That plus your top decks don't stink and itch as bad when you grind on them.

To the OP. Get what you want and what you can but know this, RN or SN, both need a bilge pump and the hood modded to live in surf.

But its not going to break in half if I go out and pancake a few before I get the time to reinforce the hull?

think of it this way... if you cracked the side of the SN hull on the 5th 3/4 roll (which you might, you could crack it on the fist attempt) you'd probably crack a RN on the 6th, 7th or 8th 3/4 roll. Both hulls need reinforcement if you're trying to learn rolls. I probably had a couple dozen 3/4 rolls before I cracked my reinforced RN. 3/4 rolls are brutal on hulls. It's probably the worst thing other than hitting bottom you can do to a ski.

Hell no.
You have quite a bit of time to practice before you get high enough to do some major damage.

dissagree. I was trying rolls on the first day I bought my ski and it was a waist to chest high day. I couldn't event turn the ski without falling, but when I had it pointing the right way I'd charge the wave and wreck spectacularly.

Got any pictures ??:laugh2:

A few years ago me and a friend thought we could backflip on a 1 foot wave in 1 foot of water. Falling over backards and getting mushed into the sand by the ski didn't feel quite right but we thought we were bad a$$. Wish there was a camera out there that day.

Sweet as ill just get what ever I get then . What kind of damage does it do to the hull if you land flat instead of nose first?
