being the slacker that I am, actually I worked 15 straight hours yesturday from 1 am to 4 pm, still have nto sent the throttle cable, work getting in the way!, But I can still send it, I like the idea of raffling or giving away the hull to a young rider...........

you guys know it was some fat looser that stole it. then when he put it in the water he realized he was a fat looser and couldn't ride it. 3 cheers for fat lazy American thieves!

I can't believe they found it, so awesome.

I think the raffle idea is a great thought, I am still willing to ship out my stuff. We definitely need to figure out a way to get it to someone who would appreciate this thing. Having some rules for entering the raffle might take care of that. Also think of all the positive PR we could gain from this for our sport.

only eligible 16 and under!

That's what I was thinking! ... Either that or a converted coucher!

Really though, I love the idea of raffling it to a kid but they should have to have their boater's license.... or take the course online in Daytona while 100 drunken jetskiers cheer them on. :bananajump:

this sounds like a great idea to me i think a young kid who is not so fortunate
like maybe someone that comes to watch during the event or something
cause last year there were alot of people that just happened to be in the area came to watch in amazement

the above statement is great. but heck yeah raffle that thing to 14-16 age limit
and someone that doesnt already have a ski.
that kid would appreciate it, think about if that happened to you at that age, i would never get off the ski.

i will donate to the cause!!!

settle down now....

my thoughts:

  1. give it to a kid under 18
  2. make them sign a waiver that if they sell it, the money goes to the charity or wherever we choose. we don't want someone selling it for profit in 2 weeks.
  3. they can sell it after 1 year of riding it or pass it on to another rider... if they don't ride it, they loose it.
  4. I think having strings attached will make the person realize that this is a gift w/ conditions... I really don't think there should be a raffle per say, I think we should just pick a qualified person through free drawing... we can put all the terms of ownership on the sign up sheet for them, that way we know they know we are serious..

- that chode lick waveracer shouldn't be allowed to enter.... we all know he is just gonna turn around and sell it to make a profit

- agree, think of it as a car that is passed down through generations through a family, each person learns how to ride on it and passes it on to the next person

I guess a little bit of an application process would be in order. Maybe not an essay or anything, but some basic info and then a paragaph or something on "why I would like to receive this ski" or something like that. Maybe the donors could be the selection committee....
