After toiling with hammers, heat, impact hammer, wd40, PB, CLR, and cursing I found a way that might work consistently for others.

First, I removed the ebox from the bulkhead.

This is dark because I soaked it in everything I could think off to break it free/ dissolve the crud. but you can see the gap that's filled with the crud.

Once you find it get a 1/16" bit and drill one or two right next to the post. The crud is softer than the post and you barely damage the post. #winning

After drilling the holes you can hit the bracket in a way to twist the post and it breaks free pretty easily!!

Bracket free E-Box !!!!

I have chased the ebox holes with an 11/16th bit and I will get the cruddy brackets into the glass beader. When I reinstall I will wrap some teflon tape and a little graphite for next time.

Does this count as a tech post?

Channel-locks on the backside bracket and some muscle usually does it. But your way works too.

After once or twice fighting this I now slot all my eboxes, grease didn't seem to help in any case. Now I only have to remove one nut (bolt on some AMs) and loosen the other side which is a pain with the bpipe.

I used vice grips and torqued the bracket until it unthreaded. The stock box is not threaded but it corroded to the threads. Little soak, minimal heat, lots of torque, it unthreaded. Have the be careful not to break the ear off.

I wrapped my stud with a lot of teflon, used an obsured amount of anti-seize, in a hole that was heavily damaged from corrosion, cleaned, painted (cheap paint), and it still corroded back on w/in the year. I think our gulf salt is different than what most are used to.

The bracket was bending for me when I was trying to torq it. It might have been easier out of the ski completely with the box in a vice.

What the hell? I have stuck ebox and searched and found this thread This is BS that salt creates a thread that binds it.

I was going to remove the bolts that hold the ebox posts from the other side which requires removing the dash panel. I just wante dto make sure I didn't forget another bolt or something because my ebox wont budge after removal of bolt (2) nuts

I had this issue also. I had to remove the dash area to get the the brackets. That was fine bc I was redoing the whole ski. Then when I had the ebox on the bench, I had to grind the bolts off and brackets. I just ordered new brackets and OEM bolts.

On my SN I could not get the thing to loosen for the life of me. I removed the nuts, soaked the whole area in Kroil quite a few times, and just rode hard and beat the crap out of the SN for half a season that way. Eventually it popped loose. :)

Electrolysis, what a beautiful thing (not really) it’s amazing how fast metal corrodes with it. When I worked at the dealership, we would have people wanting their 20k+ jet boats left in the water. We would pull everything apart and spray with galvanized primer then out drive paints. Couldn’t do anything for the cables. They were lucky if they got through 2 seasons without replacing wear ring n 3 seasons they pretty much would have to replace anything that touch the water. Only thing that was salvageable was a driveshaft. Rest was paperweights
