With our directions a monkey could do it in less then 2 hours. It's very simple! Dan
Awesome, should only take me about 3 1/2 hours then:woot:
bump for this ski. Really would like to start the build but I have been telling myself to get wr250x for a while. Gotta stick with it. but next spring i'll have a stunt hull on the water for sure!

Hope to see some builds with these skis.

I talked to Dan before and he said a normal pole can be used. I believe it was in his "for sale" thread a while back where he said that he used a -2" pole on a normal ski and still used a -2" pole on the stunt.

Does that work out pretty good mounting the handle pole bracket inside of the hull like that?
Is there enough flat surface to get a good solid hold for the bracket?

I have the Wamiltons stainless h-pole bracket right now. Will a OEM pole fit on there and have enough clearance since its mounted inside the hull?
It looks like that pole in your pics has the end chopped down a bit so it can rotate properly..
Sorry for all the questions Dan... Inquiring minds want to know!

Hey man,

Yea the bracket being mounted from the underside works great! An OEM pole will fit fine as long as your bracket isn't super low. I make my own composite brackets now so if you had a problem with the wamiltons one I'd hook you up. Dan

What are you talking about, bracket inside the hull?

I had to look myself. Take a look.

Do you just cut slits in the hull for the bracket? If so, do you add a lot of extra reinforcing in that area? A slit just seems like it would create a high stress cracking point that ordinary bolt holes would not.

Here's a list of what's needed to finish the hull.

6in Biaxle tape 4 yards ($1.40 per yard)
2 quarts of Vinyl Ester Resin ($30 total)
3 Packages of aluminum rivits ($4 each)
Pump Shoe Stock is $78 and I think snowxr makes one... maybe cheaper?
4 Tubes of adhesive ($12 each)
Scupper valves or one way valves

The exact products and the cheapest place to buy them will be outlined in the instructions. Just wanted to give an idea of what the rest of the costs were.

Thanks,
Dan

The hood seals on 3 different surface angles. It can never slided side to side or forward/back. So it only needs to be held down. The best way to hold the hood down is just a stainless ratchet strap. A 4 pack can be bought at Tractor Supply for $16 I believe.

You, mcdog, and pabloescobar are all welcome to ride my ski as soon as I get it. Shouldn't be too much longer but I'm sure it'll get colder over the next few weeks. If anyone in Atlanta wants to give this hull a shot, you're welcome to come down as well.
