Custom/Hybrid Superfreak Badass -5 full carbon on a budget HaHa!

Yah well, the effort was there.

A few thanks are in order.

First thing I have to do, is thank my awesome wife for supporting me with this hull and build. 24 yrs later she still loves me. Why I have no idea...

Tem for designing an absolutely amazing hull and also for his care and support. Tem and Nancy are such great people.

Jetmaniac for hooking me up with great service, products, support and understanding when I'm having issues haha! Thanks Chris.

Orangefinger for all the needed moral support and parts.

edit : Just got bitched out for not thanking Aaron (Wisdom775) for the AL tank strap idea. Thanks Aaron!

And last, but not least... All you guys with Freaks, here on the X, that steered me in the right direction. Such a bunch of bastards lol!! Love you guys.

OK. This was kinda on a budget. I took most of my parts out of my old rn and put them in this hull. My tired, beat to he77, ported from god only knows who 771. Stock pump with a 9/15 hooker soon to be a 11/17. Limited B Pipe, enhancer etc.

Goodies from Jetmaniac. Cold Fusion turn plate, Blowsion riser bars, ODI grips, Xmetal scupper, and a bunch of other super sweet goodies that went in it.

The hull is like said, a full carbon -5 Badass Superfreak. Tem really hooked me up on this one and I'm very happy with it. It was already painted and had his first version of adjustable footholds. They are primitive, but work friggin awesome! No joke. They are super comfy and solid as he77.

There's so many great Superfreak builds now, that I'm not going to get into a ton of detail on this one. I'm going to post up a few little things that I think worked really well, just to share with others.

My hull was set up for a PFP, but for now I am running a B Pipe. Everything strapped in and mounted just fine. PFP is next on the list.

The scupper tube I extended about an inch inside the hull and hose clamped aluminum fine mesh window screen over, to keep debris, parts
etc from keeping it open when I'm floating and bs'ing. Flows like a mofo and will not clog from internal debris.

For the 9L kart tank, I made an AL strap that I mounted to the hull and then strapped it down as well. Very solid and easy to do.

The coupler cover under the front foothold, I shortened a lot, and used some turf under the cover lip to extend it under the foothold and keep
the splash under control. Although this hull stays WAY dry. Very impressive.

cold-fusion.com fuel and primer line was used. And I have to say this stuff is awesome to work with. The fit is second to none.

This hull was everything I had hoped for and then some. I was very concerned about it, due to the fact that I never test rode one prior to the buy. But you bastards here on the X steered me straight. Thanks.

This is what makes it so cool to me, so far.

Build was very easy. A few little things got a little love to get to line up, but overall super easy to get done.
The initial ride was a nice surprise.
It is so stable. Very much like a SJ, but better in every way, with no surprises. So easy to get on and it just begs you to rip it.
It has a very light, responsive and poppy feel to it, without being twitchy in any way.
One thing that really got me stoked was the set up wake. It is much nicer than what my -5 RN did. Bigger and cleaner.
You can chase boat wakes WOT all day long and be silly stable doing it. This thing is confidence inspiring to say the least.
Another really cool thing about it is that it will hook, or unhook exactly when you want it to. I can lean over and get a really aggressive
turn and stay hooked up, or slide it when I want. And a lot of this can be done with just a weight distribution change. This was
something my SJ didn't do too well. It's fun to just slide it, change your weight, or attitude a bit and hook it up. All new to me. Fun...
Very easy to over rotate a nose stab with no set up wake, when learning. Haha splat.

I'm sure as time goes on, I'll learn a lot more about the ski. This was found out in a very short cold ride last Friday. Wish I got to the water sooner. It's friggin snowing now. Can't wait for another warm day.

Random pics in no order, but some will show mounts, screens etc.
