Superfreak badass restoration-"make superfreaks great again"

Crab

thanks darin...noswad!

Original super stock chamber from back in the day we think, pulling a 13/17 or so in the 148, 86.5nozzle and 89mm turn nozzle stubby cone also. Hits hard

Ride report- ski rides absolutely amazing, rides much flatter than I anticipated, super flickable, and feels light as a feather coming off the superjet. Engine and pump have a lot more punch than in the superjet. Pump felt a little tight in the sj, definitely not the case in this ski. Had an issue with a cooling line popping off going into the water manifold so my ride got cut short. The hose clamps I bought wouldn't fit over the lines without loosening all the way and I wasn't able to tighten them back up. Used some zip ties but one line popped back off. This is without question one of the best riding hulls I've ever ridden. Can't wait to get more tray time on it. Hoping to take it to the waves this coming weekend. I think this hull will definitely take my riding ability to the next level.

Got the cooling lines all worked out and took her out for another rip this evening. Holy crap this thing is a handful even with the little 735. Feels suuuuper light especially in the tray area. I've got to get used to riding this ski as it feels much different than the superjet. In a good way. The engine has a ton more punch in the freak. Needs a little tweaking on the carbs and it should be pretty dialed. It's a little muddy right off idle. Hard to tell if it's a little rich or lean. I also might need to play with the water tubing a little since im running a totally different setup in that. Once it gets on plane and on the pipe it wants to rip your arms out of socket. I also am a little surprised how well it tracks and stays hooked up when cornering considering I have no intake grate. Just putting up to a little wind chop and brapping the throttle it pops right out of the water and feels weightless under my legs. The superjet felt like a pig haha. It's going to be an amazing ski once I get a little more comfortable and get it dialed in. Can't wait to get more tray time. Surf forecast in topsail is calling for 3-5 footers on Saturday so I think that'll be a perfect surf break in.

Got her out for a little surf sesh today. Waves were epic! Solid beautiful 4-6 ft sets in the back field with plenty of separation between. The freak felt right at home. Still getting used to the Ski and had some perfect opportunities to flip but was too pansy to huck it haha. Definitely next time. Stabs were solid 5+ foot higher than on the superjet. Got a few photos from the day.

Few updates. Finally got the rails turfed and installed a pole spring. Went with a 750/800 blowsion spring that I modified a bit to make it work. Had to cut the top down and bent the bottom up to relieve a little spring tension. I'll get a piece of stainless to go under the spring where it contacts the hull soon. Spring feels great.

Replaced the chamber to waterbox hose as the one I had was from a vxr and didn't quite fit like I wanted. Also, the guy I bought the chamber from gave a little sleeve to reduce the stinger ID. I had to do a little lathe work to the stinger go get it to fit properly. I ordered the silicone hoses on Amazon and the 2.5 od aluminum pipe on eBay. I'm told that reducing the stinger ID will allow the chamber to fill up quicker and increasing the bottom end response. The ID of the stinger is 1.840 and the reducer has an ID of 1.625 I believe. Should be the same as the standard superjet bpipe ID. We'll see how it runs.
