I used a belt sander with 60 grit to get the main portion off. Then to get down in the cracks a 4 inch grinding wheel It works well but you have to be careful. Then went over everything with a 60 grit 5" orbital sander. Took about 1 hour for the whole thing.

Can you weigh what you have left of it there now? The bottom decks are what's so dang heavy. I'll bet the top SN deck only weighs about 25-35lbs or so w/o reinforcement.
Gonna do tubbies or paint the bottom before mating the 2 halves?
It's gonna look sweet!

'Dry weight of a square with no hood completely stripped is 109.2'

'right now it weighs 61.6 with a pump shoe and bulkhead'

Corey, is that a difference of 47.6 for the topdeck?

Yes chris you are correct.... and WAB if you read back i have all the weights on my post. As of right now the bottom deck weighs around 61... after we chop the bulkhead some more and chop the nose a bit im sure we will loose a bit more weight... Im guessing we will be around 60 before we put the topdeck on... When the topdeck is installed im guessing we will be in the low 80's and that is counting side wall reinforcments. No tubbies no bottom deck reiforcment...

The topdeck was popped yesterday! And Tem sent me some pictures... It weighed in at 18 pounds. I cant wait to have this thing in my garage... Still needs footholds, assembly and reinforcment and it will be ready! Thank you Tem...
