Just curious as to what length plates you guys are running. My hull is a -4.3 or -5. Right now I have cut the plate at 12" from intake grate back. I know this may be a bit long. I know some cut flush. Just curious on what you have found. I know some have played with different lengths. No plans to be doing flat water back flips. Just looking for good handling.

The difference is so minimal on these hulls that I really don't think you will notice much difference in flush vs. a inch or two longer. I have spent a lot of time on varied length freak hulls and it seems like the only place I notice much difference in hull and ride plate lengths is from zero to five mph. Beyond that it's not huge at all. My hull is -1.5 and I do wish it was shorter. I think the -4.3 is perfect for my riding style.

Sorry for the sidetrack, but what were the D cuts doing to the roll you didn't like?
Hard to explain. Tried one years ago and my rolls turned into tail whips. Put regular plate back on and rolls came back. Put a carbon d cut on 2 years ago. Rolls changed. Lost some lift. Put Wamiltons carbon plate back on and rolls got a bit better. Believe David cut is better in surf than flat water.

flush on rear sides and 3" longer under pump (so angle cut on each side leaving flat section 3" longer in center under the pump) Make sense?
that's how I run them on T1 and have run this way on -8.5" freak in past as well
