I bought this back in october in Pismo from Tem. Been busy all winter and haven't had time until now to get going on it. So this weekend I got out the scalpel! Going from full length down to -4.3.

It's not as bad as it looks... Starting to put pieces back together now.

Chris, I might borrow your rear-extended foothold idea. How did those work for you?

Nice! haha.
Are the superfreaks not foam filled in the tray area? or have you removed it?
Are this a badass hul you are shortning or the old style hull?
How thick are the carbon layup, from the pieces you cut out? The reason im asking, is that im waiting on a full carbon Lenzi SJ style hull -3" and im thinking about ahortning that allso :)
Good work :)

Okai, so if the hood pops off in the surf, its bye bye freak? Are the bottom deck tray aerea "reinforced" acrorss the hull (port to starboard) to strenghen the tray or completely hollow?

There are stringers and three sealed air chambers. If your hood pops off in the surf, the ski will float as good, if not better, as any other foamed ski.
