Custom/Hybrid SUPERFREAK talk

I must say this about Tem, I am one of those guys that has learned to research until there is no more research to be had, and then research some more and he has been soooooooooooooo patient with my dumbazz!!! I talked to Art for 3 years off and on before I spent a dime with him and now I wouldn't spend my money anywhere else as far as engines, fuel, and ignition go. You can always tell the truly sincere guys by who has the most patience!

I really feel that Tem is one of the few top notch guys in the business!

Totally agree...
his surf knowledge makes the difference... he knows a lot about surfboard technology and has brought that art form to skis

Props to Tem and his wife. Both of them are incredibly friendly and down to earth. I get intimidated talking to the big name manufacturers but Tem and his wife are always very warm and inviting. He strikes me as your riding buddy that just wants you to ride his new hull and tell him what you think. I also have to hand it to both of them for having two different ski's available for people to ride in Daytona. I think those ski's were on the water the entire time. I loved the way they both handled in the surf but I think the twitchy red hull would be awesome on flat water. Either way, I was blown away by how smooth they both rode through the chop.

Thanks! I'm eventually going to have to drop the money on one of those hulls.

I rode 3 sf's this weekend. My favorite for the surf was the stock length with the blue/jetmaniac big bore motor, easiest to thrash the waves on IMO. The red one needs a smaller prop and needs to get rid of the stock cdi. The white one needs more power.

So with an epic and Jetmaniac 701 etc.. I should be ok? I don't exactly have a 1000 cc motor sitting around. My buddy sai the full carbon was too light for the surf. Any input?

only one guy said that to me and he perferred a rickter of all the ski's i believe, think he rode a white blaster. like everything, nothing fits everyone. i personally heard a few big names say they liked the full carbon ski a lot. i'm hoping when a few of the well known guys get on they'll shed some light on things. pretty much all day sunday i was with the demo's helping them in and out of the water.

that was my buddy Ed, he gave me the same exact report. He rides more surf than I do though. I value his opinion, he has actually ridden on, I am buying one sight unseen, which has me nervous. I trust Tem though, It sounds like he rides very close to the same style that I do and i about the same size as me.

I have yet to hear of anyone ever riding a Superfreak and not liking it.

The only negative statements I have ever heard was that some say it is too light. That seems like an oxymoron to me but if you are concerned, buy the fiberglass version. Tem has nothing to hide as far as the hulls go. The demo Superfreak was available for anyone to ride at anytime.

I have rode 3 models of the Superfreak among a lot of other AM hulls.... I will agree thought the red Badass -2 with more rocker was a little more unstable, but still a lot of fun & would suit me fine for a surf ski. I rode my Carbon pro -4.3 in the surf sunday, its way to much in the surf with a dry pipe 1000's.. I went for one BF didn't even try, crap wave & did 1 & 1/2... But I will say even my light hull rode very nice in the surf, no bad habits... I love the way the black full length SF rides, thats a surf ski that anyone can enjoy!

I'm going to have Tem build me a -2 Badass with the same rocker as my -4.3 for a surf ski. Fiberglass & bomb proof... I plan to assemble the hull myself so it should be a fun project for the spring..

well........ i guess i can put my 2 cents in since i burned like 7 gallons on the red one.

should i keep it short and sweet with a simple I :):):):)IN LOVE THAT THING....., or go into detail?

That was me, however that was on Saturday when I had only ridden the red ski that had a bit too much rocker for me. That being said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and it was a solid ski, it just didn't fit my riding. I found the Rickter to be much more predictable than the red ski in the surf and it fit me better having a longer pole and different setup, nothing that couldn't be changed on the red ski. Also, the red ski, with so much rocker tended to turn around the center of the boat, where as I prefer to lean the ski over. Most of my riding is boat chasing, and I couldn't keep the red ski planted, I initially attributed this to the weight but after Sunday I changed my mind.

Sunday I rode the black Superfreak that was full length and was very impressed! I think that will probably end up being the boat for me in the future. The weight was the same, but I was able to keep the ass end of the ski planted and maintain speed, even in the chop. My type of riding isn't typical, I want the best of all worlds, a ski that is light, tracks well, and can be ridden at high speeds for extended periods of time. I found the longer hull allowed me to lean the ski over a bit more and it had more of the handling characteristics that I look for, and I was impressed at how different Tem was able to make two similar skis with a few hull changes, really a testament to him knowing what he is doing.

Thanks to all of the guys that helped me out and let me demo this weekend. Also to Tem and his wife who have to be two of the nicest people I have ever met.

I rode 3 superfeaks red with black pole and extra rear rocker bit to twitchy for me some of that may be due to hair trigger throttle response
Black full length felt so comfortable n that thing light tracked good pushed feet into holds and rolled that thing like it was my own ski very nice until I snapped the pole off it just past the steering plate sorry guys !
Also rode gold ski Cory I think the guys name was ( sorry if I got it wrong) loved that one aswell similar to the black one litle less stable but still felt at home straight away wanted to ride that one again and I would have been out much longer on the black one if I didn't break that pole lol
Thanks to all you superfreaks for letting me play if I had the money there and then I may well have pulled the trigger on one of these hulls if your thinking about it you won't be dissapionted IMO

this guy is a beast. over 2 hours non stop with constant fast paced riding. in all that time i think you only burnt about 4 gallons. but, man were you throwing some sick flips.
