I'll let him chime in but he said in a previous post that he was hoping to have time to mock things up before it gets painted and turfed. Sounds,to me, like some else is doing the dirty work.

Matt...you having Blowsion do your paint? Are they doing any work on it for you or are you just shipping to their dock?

I am just having it shipped there and buying some stuff, that's all.
A friend is helping me out with painting it locally. Like, I am using his garage and his equipment. He did the design work for me and will be making stencils for the paint job.
He is currently painting his own Superjet. So I have to wait with painting until he is done, hence I will have some time to mock things up before painting.
I also need to take some 80 grit sandpaper to that shiny black gel coat.

Not 80 grit!

You will need to wet sand it with 220, then prime it, after that you will find some area's that need attention.. These are the steps for a nice paint job..

oh yeah! i took mr. superfreak himself for a ride today. that guy can ride a dirt bike. he hopped right on my bike and took off like he's rode every day the last 6 months!!! huge props to mr berky for showing us young guys how it's done today.

I did prime coat. 120/220. Prime. 220 and paint. Thick epoxy primer (per Berky) and HOK single stage metallic though.

I just double-checked the HOK Tech manual. 80-180 grit before priming.
This is a VERY thick epoxy primer.

I'm such a squid. I got a KX250f around Xmas time and I need lessons. I have to hop back on my TRX450r to feel like I know what the hell I'm doing at the track.

Matt I wouldn't go any courser than 150 grit on the black epoxy coat, the more you get into it (deeper) the more poris it is and the more primmer it takes, 180 is plenty for the epoxy primmer to key into on the epoxy surface coat that is on the ski .

I had a blast riding dirt bikes with Blake (Billbo) and Brett (Superwetfreakybrett) I'm hooked ! just not enough time to do it all. Blake is smoking fast and has a kick ass KTM 450 and a killer private track. Thanks for the invite, hadn't rode for a couple years.

Soon to have a polyester/glass ski coming out in 6 weeks, the first proto looks like it will be a real porker at 92lbs ( yes you can say squeal like a pig)
