Custom/Hybrid superfreak time

That stuff dries pretty fast. Check the can to see what it says for full cure time.

Oh.......Please thank me for my post when you get your "thanks" back. I'm trying to drive up my "thanks" count:wave:

Great job man!

I just pulled the trigger on a freak and will be turfing in a month or so. Great thread!

I wanted to ask...

How much padding and turf do I need to buy to complete the entire ski including rails from HT?

I was thinking about the smooth black on the bond rails and the gunwales, but I thought I read somewhere that it may be slippery.

I will be putting diamond cut in the tray + footholds for sure...might look like crap mismatched though.

I really like the look of the smooth turf for the bond rails, but wanted to ask if you guys had any experience with it?

Thanks.

Smooth on the bond rails will get beat up quickly IMO. Smooth on the gunwalls looks good (that's how Rickters are) and it doesn't look bad with the smooth sides and diamond tray bottom (that's how Rickters are)
Congrats on your purchase! You'll love it man!

1 sheet of each! Depending on the thickness you want for the tray is the question.Whatever thickness you decide on,you will need the standard size pad (48" x 17").l would get two thicknesses (is that even a word?lol) so you can use some in the holds and elsewhere.

Looks like I will go with the 26 black for the padding...

Do you guys use a longer piece for the bond rails or make them them from 2 pieces?

Normally 3 pieces cut 2.5-3" wide.Run the side first then put the front piece on starting on one side (of the rail) while heating and wrapping the turf around to the other rail.Got this tip from a fellow rider:cram the piece of turf tight up against the other cause like george, you will have some "shrinkage" later causing a gap between the pieces. Then take a blade and trim the edge flush up against the rail where you have excess.

that is slick :):):):) there... nice work... what did you use for heat??? think i may steal my roomates hair dryer... anyone try that does it get hot enough???

Home Depot,Lowes,Ace hardware.Go buy a heat gun,they are cheap.
