What technique do you use to place carbon that has been wet out? I haven't made parts with wet carbon in some time but I remember it being way more difficult to handle than dry carbon with the weave distorting and falling apart. Are you wetting out the carbon on a table and then transferring it over? It seems like it would be impossibly difficult to do that on something like your engine bay and have it come out looking that nice. I'm very impressed.

Fantastic Build!!! You do some great work!!
I too would like to learn your technique for using carbon, just did engine bay last night and let me tell you mine looks no where near as clean as yours!!

I learned a technique from my old boss that has worked pretty well so far. I roll the carbon out on the table and then lightly dust strips of wax paper with 3m super 77 and lay it on top of the carbon. I trace out my templates on the wax paper and cut all the pieces, wet out the surface of the ski with epoxy, lay the pieces of carbon down and then peel off the wax paper.

So then you saturate the carbon after it has been placed on the wet surface? I'm sure you're not just wetting out one side right? That's a pretty clever technique.
