Turf is only 1/4 thick so how does that perform as well as the oem hood seal .

Have you ever noticed how soft an oem hood seal is? Have you ever crushed it down with your fingers to see how small it goes?

I use an OEM hood seal myself, and yeah, it works, but it could be a lot better (this is a brand new one).

I'm just trying to give you a nice cheap alternative here. The good thing about turf is that once the hood has been on for a while, it makes a nice little groove which the hood sits in and won't move from. All of my ski's/mates ski's will be done with leftover turf rather than an OEM hood seal.

Since I've got a SuperJet stripped for refinish and repaint, I went to the garage and took some measurements of the "seal trough":

Depth - about .25 inches
Width - about .65 inches
Length (circumference) - roughly 90 inches (assuming 31" x 14")

Yeah that stuff looks sweet:biggrin: It looks like the flaps might even seal around the side of the lip when its compressed.

Nick,

That is what you used for the RN, right? I guess it would work for a square also.

Just want to confirm because I added this to the Reference Library in the FAQ.
(The reference library has replacement parts and part numbers to items that often need replaceing at the last minute.)
