Super Jet Superjet low end bog

The diaphragms looked and felt brand new. I replaced all the fuel and pulse lines and put new plugs in just because. Took to the water and it acted fine for about 1 minute then started the heavy bog.
I then took it back home and sprayed starter fluid around the carbs and base gasket while it was idling and 2 separate times it started to idle higher while I sprayed at the base gasket under the exhaust manifold...?

The intake is not the only place for an air leak, almost every mating surface on the engine can cause a leak/lean condition. I would seriously stop messing with it and do a leakdown test or you might be rebuilding it soon. Might as well check your compression while you are at it, sounds like you are doing more harm than good at this point trying to ride it, letting it run away multiple times and shutting it down by pulling the fuel lines.

Yes i understand that. Im not riding it, its idling on the trailer in the water, the carbs are clean, compression is good, and it ran away 4 times in over a week. 3 times it ran away and i immediately put my hands over the carbs killing the engine in less than a few seconds.

have you checked the fuel pickups in the tank for cracks? Did you pressure test the carbs? Are the o-rings on the H & L adjuster jets in good shape, no cracks?

I agree with yamanube, put the motor on the work bench and spray it down with soapy water with the fly wheel off. sounds like you covered most the easy stuff.

I had my pulse line fitting going into the case come loose one time and caused my ski to run away...you never know where its leaking

i finally got around to do some diagnosing. Popped off the flywheel and noticed immediately that the stator Timing is advanced quite a bit. Is this safe with a protec cdi..? Also I noticed that the Bendix bushing in the low case half is cracked and missing chunks.

Previous owner said he replaced seals a few months before I got the ski. So they would be less than a year old as of today.
Do these look leaky?

So my next question to the gurus is will this tiny leak cause the major low end bog?
Ill be tearing down and rebuilding as soon as i get new gaskets.
