Hi
Stop testing your starter the way you are doing it.....there is no bushing location the end of the bendix as that sits inside the flywheel cover housing....so now you are stripping the bendix / starter gears as the whole thing is flopping around and grinding the teeth.
One of your starter brushes might not be making contact with the armature....they look a bit short / worn.....swop out the starter with a known good one, and then last...swop out the bendix with a known good one.....the bendix clutch might be slipping when the plugs are in.
I only took the case off and tested it once just to see if I could spot any abnormalities.
The bendix, flywheel and stator were off of my spare running 650 motor so I assumed they were good.
From the video it looks as though the starter is still spinning the back of the bendix but the bendix teeth that contact the flywheel turn the opposite direction when compression builds. I believe the bendix clutch is slipping like you suggested.
