geek and I were comparing what we did for weight savings. Here's my list:

light top deck---under 20lbs trimmed
light battery---9amp-hour instead of 16
light waterbox---1.4lbs instead of 5
no foam under tray, partial bulkhead
light hood
only one battery and gas tank strap (that's a joke!)

Damn Darin, you act like you doing glass work when you tried to punch a 2x4 through the hull putting it back on the trailer!

??

I have teflon strips on the bunks, and they are angled on the back side. I do that every time I put it on the trailer, no worries.

Just looked like a hard hit. I ride onto my trailer too but it has soggy 2x4's with carpet. I have seen a few hulls that got holes punched in them by hits or things you wouldn't think would put a hole in them.

I've had them around 14 years now, I think I'll be fine.

Rode again today and am really comfortable finally. I've got some serious pop off waves, even more than before, and it spins in the air a lot quicker than before. It's nice to see the water on the 'other side' when trying rolls again.

I may end up moving the exhaust outlet a little further back, I'm getting some exhaust into the pump intake on some tricks since I spin to the left most of the time.

Awesome build. I haven't owned a stand up for 3 years now and really wanting to get back into it. I like what you did with the exhaust. Pardon my ignorance but is a round nose conversion preferred for freestyle?

I would say preferred, but not required at all. Squarenose SJ's are great at freestyle, roundnoses are more popular and easier to get parts for like handlepoles, hoods, etc, though almost everything else that fits a RN will fit a SN. A conversion like I did is a low cost way to get a lighter roundnose hull, though it requires a TON of work.
