LOL, yeah being a newb, I have landed so many incorrectly that I got used to closing my eyes right before impact, literally! Now I do just what Eric was saying, just kind of space out and am not looking anywhere. It is amazing, when my head is clear and I'm not thinking about anything they just happen. As soon as I start over analyzing my movements, etc SMACK

Makes some good reading. I've been hurting my wrists landing rolls and now im chocolateing out and just doing stabs (GAY). I pretty sure after reading this im hunkering down to much which is causing me to flat land.
Will give standing up more a shot next time im out.

I'm pretty Stoked to see this old thread come back to life!
A lot of the appeal of surf riding is throwing really Big, Clean, Rolls,
Otherwise known as "El Rollo's" It's a true staple of old school surf riding!
To me, big back flips are cool, but fairly easy to accomplish, all you really need is to "nut-up"
Rolls on the other hand, take more finess. Watching them done correctly, is almost magical!
Hope having this thread come back to life, will motivate the young guns to start rolling again!
