Well... I was hoping to get more done before my next update, but i'm kinda stuck waiting on some parts. So here we go!

5200'd the french drains in.

Started foaming under the tray. This is a little harder than I expected because I kinda have to shape each piece indvidually, but i'll make it work.

For 'custom' reasons as well as cavitation reasons, I installed a side exhaust outlet. If you notice, I started to mount it farther back, but the more I thought about it... Someone might want to shorten this hull later in life, and then they'd have to relocate my exhaust... #thinking ahead for the next guy.

Picked up a Pancake Pete FFH and a fancy aluminum gas cap.
More on the gas cap later.

On to the contest...

Its been brought to my attention that I might be making the contest a little too difficult for the causal follower of the thread.
I was slightly concerned about this... So I'll make it a little easier from here on out... and if nobody gets it, ill edit some of the previous clues so they're not so hard.

Today's clue.....

People say while doing tail stands with rear ex causes cavitation issues. Others say different, i happen to agree with ^^^^Mr. Swap i could tail stand my x2 for days and on my sj it sucks.

So I'm assuming the Purple Home insulation foam doesn't absorb water????

Maybe I'm confused, but what does exhaust outlet location have to do with 'cavitation'?

If you place the exhaust too far forward on the side your exhaust gasses will find their way into your pump. I am riding SUPERJETT'S old Topdeck conversion ski. He placed the side exhaust a little too far forward and a little too low. Every sharp left turn or slide (turning and heading back toward your setup wake, sliding left with hood tricks) causes the pump to cavitate REALLY bad and you go nowhere. My short term solution was just put cap it off and make it a front exhaust for the time being, but its pretty loud even through my helmet.

Here are some pics from his build.... Notice the location, I think Swaps is far enough back to not cause any issues.

With the exhaust in the rear, if you are doing a tail stand, the exhaust can "Bubble" into the pump causing cavitation.

But honestly, I would rather have it out the rear than on the side, when you do rolls, when the ski hits the water if you do not make it all the way around, it has a weird effect, like shoving a banana in the tail pipe, for a brief second. As Superjett about his.

Call it a " JAKE BRAKE "

Swap I posted something similar on your exhaust tubing thread.

This should be renamed the "Thoughtful Hull" when completed! Haha!

Has anyone ever put a one way valve on their exhaust?

And How Much More Weight Shall you like to add.. How about some Stacks and Flaps like on a RedNeck Duramax..? -Dont re-invent the wheel..gravity, forward motion and pressure pushes the exhaust and water out the back with less resistance, than the bends and turns of the side exit.

-"IF" I had any suggestions about this pickle...Maybe, Just a thought, a Large Versi-Plug inside the pipe wall could let the water/exhaust out and close fast enough upon reentry and not a large amount of water rush back in. The only drawbacks i see is back pressure and resistance or the check ball getting stuck and carboned up. just run her rich or make sure to put a lil "water wetter" in there when you fill up! -J/K I dont know what to tell you.

-How many rolls and Flips you plan on doing anyway on a somewhat stock SJ? are the potential risks worth it to you?

So my wife was getting caught up on my thread last night....

And she brought up an interesting point: The chance of a barrel roll happening with her at the helm is practically zero. So maybe I shouldn't worry about the exhaust outlet so much.

Now I have to decide if i'm going to stick with the side exhaust or go back to rear exhaust.
