SXR Sxr handlepole Cracking

Has any one experienced their handle pole cracking at the opening where the handle bars pivot? My 11' has 2 vertical cracks 1 on either side. They look like stress cracks.

I bought my SXR in March and have been riding 1-5 times a week since. I just noticed these cracks last week on my Handlepole after I did a handlebar upgrade. Called dealer today and I can take it in for a Warranty as its my first year owning the Ski. I'm looking at an AC Racing Pole because my SXR is going to be a Stock Racer/Carving ski. Any ideas on the quality, length suggestions would be great.

You're saying stress cracks are caused from the compression of the pole going down, not the pulling back/up of the handlepole? I'd like to know what causes it for sure. Thanks

Common place for cracks. My 04 never cracked and it was raced hard from 04-2006 with occasional races in 2007-2008 and then just ridden up until 2009. I removed the stock bumper and installed a thick Hydroturf shock pad. Some Crack some done. I would guess you at one point slammed it down and it caused it. Have you installed a spring tensioner?

The ski is still stock. Trying to keep it this way but I guess I will try and get it fixed under warranty and swap out the pole for aftermarket. I'm eefing PISSED,only 15 hours of ride time and this happens. All that weight added to the ski and this can happen?

Does anyone know if a 650 pole will fit,I have one lying around.

BIRD.. Its cracked as if you were to sit on the hood and pull up on the bars.

I think from the factory it has a spring tensioner. NO?

I would go aftermarket. No reason to keep your ski stock, it doesn't make it worth anymore. You can find a used AC Superjet pole for pretty cheap and they look good on SXRs.....I really like my XMetal pole too. You will like the superjet steering better anyways....(you will also need superjet steering and bars) The stockers are going to break eventually... if you do get it warranteed, put some more cushioning under it and it'll last a lil longer.

The stock pole on mine is cracking on one side. I just decided to get the x-metal pole in custom color to match the color scheme of my sxr. It's one of the best aftermarket parts I have purchased. I'm pleased with how it feels for me. I still have my stock pole in the storage and I'm going to get rid of it.

Well,i dropped the ski off today. I spoke with kawasaki corp. last night and I feel pretty positive it will get warrantied. The dealer made me feel it shouldnt be a problem. Now its the waiting game.

I think I like the rrp poles. There the ones that look like sj poles right?

I think you are talking about the X Metal pole. They are slim, light and look great. Also less exspensive than an RRP setup. If I were gonna buy a new pole it would be an X Metal, just my 2 cents. I have an RRP but it came with the boat.
