SXR SXR running rough

I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions to help me figure out what is wrong with my 07 SXR. It has been running great for as long as i've owned it (3yrs) but it somewhat quickly (within a matter of minutes) started running really rough and weak/boggy. I ran it on the hose today and it is blowing a "black" oil/fuel mix out the exhaust, and it sounds like it is popping or misfiring. I did check the compression and it is good. Any ideas on what this issue might be, I don't want to start tearing it apart before asking you guys if you have any ideas what might be going on. It has the following engine mods:

wet-pipe
#zero lightened stock flywheel
aftermarket flame arrestors

Thanks,
Frank

replace the spark plugs, cut back the wires at the spark plug boots, exhasut leaks look at the simple things first, flywheel loosend up i seen that you have had it out since you have a lightwheight wheel, or wood row key on flywheel sheared

my motor had was sounds like the same issue about a month or so ago....i pulled the flame arrestor off and noticed that one the carbs was dumping a ton of fuel into the motor. Pulled the carbs and took off the cover of the one carb and the needle was stuck open. I made sure it moved freely and put everything back together. Everything has been fine since (knock on wood).

New plugs.
Check out those carbs. Make sure everything is cleaned up real nice and working properly- gaskets, jets, everything.
Check the ignition coil.

Sounds like you're misfiring and/or running rich.

My sxr is having the similar problem except it having hard time turning over. As soon I get it to fired up, it makes the popping sound and died quick if I don't hold the throttle lever.

Still working on this thing. Inspected the flywheel and it was fine, pulled carbs off and checked them too. Didn't notice anything wrong or stuck with them. I also cutback the plug wires and it still seems the same. Into the ebox now, thinking about trying a different coil.

Thanks again for the suggestions!!

Haven't heard of that before, what is it and where does it go?

I changed the coil earlier today and it started right up, wasn't blowing oil/fuel but then it died. Now it won't start!

Thanks,

I found the problem in mine. One of the prongs in CDI connector is broke and the other connector was badly damaged. Might want to check your too.

I believe it's a black box in the electrical box. Buy a manual if you don't already have one; they help a lot.
