Bringing my ski home to color sand it.
Colorsanded
Putting turf on wich I rushed and still came out acceptable enough for me
Still need to trim front foothold a bit
Wow so crazy to see all the pictures of my Ski build in one place. I am still running this ski, in fact beating on it I might say. Love it and won’t ever get rid of it, here is some more pics in its current state
Couple more pictures. Pretty crazy once it was built and assembled I took the carb off for the first time since getting the motor from the donor ski... fuel filter was beyond clogged I don’t understand how it was ripping so hard untill it just wouldn’t get fuel on the last ride but started right up and idled back. Now it’s probably better than ever before haha. Love this ski.
Back from the dead, after being down about one year due to the stock 701 piston falling apart in the motor. The fx1 now has a new lease on life as far as the heartbeat goes. This ski has been my best performing motor built to date and it’s weird that’s the case as it’s a 61x/61x with just an old school twist head and a fx1 b pipe. That ski lasted me 7 years on the same topend so I was not even disappointed when it did finally let go in blythe.
today I got the motor back in the ski, put the electronics back in time and put the flywheel and bendix in. New gasket for the flywheel cover and got the electronics set back in place (front foothold covers the hardware). Ended up getting a battery in and she has spark so everything is looking good. Just waiting on a b pipe coupler brim head pipe to chamber and she will be singing once again, poor rickter is going to get even less ride time now that the old steed is back.
I truly love Yamaha fx1s and especially mine with the story it has. It’s been with me for almost a decade at this point and I would never let it go anywhere. Excited to have it back on the team ready to put in work! Only a squarenose build away from having my trifecta assembled.
