Alright sooo recently over the winter i finally got my hands on a blaster. Ski looked nice had some parts in it and was supposed to run great. Well long story short i finally put it in the water and all sorts of problems started -_- first it wouldnt rev up in the water at all so pull it out and me and my buddy started working. We pulled the head off and the back cylinder was pretty much shot. so we pulled the motor and found that the pipe wasnt even bolted on to the manifold!! i mean seriously! so ok wasnt too bad to rebuild the top end and put bolts in the exhaust but then we decided to look over some other stuff just to make sure. good thing we did. The mid shaft didnt belong to the ski at all! the wiring looked like it was done by a 5 year old and the jet pump was completely shot. the pump had a hole in it the size of a silver dollar and was JB welded... plus the propr and wear ring were shot. The carb was messed up as well and i believe a monkey could have done a better job tuning it. so after spending an entire day pretty much rebuilding this ski that i was guaranteed "ran perfect" we notice the hull had a huge repair job. I know what youre thinking, how did i not see it when i bought it. well it wasnt in a very noticably spot and it was negtive degrees out when i bought it. So we put the ski back together with an rebuild pump, rebuild motor, and all the right parts and took it for a ride. RAN AMAZING and fell in look with blasters instantly! but only 3 ride in the "repair job" literally fell apart while riding. This guy used pegboard riveted to ply wood and then used corner bead. the licorice... thank god i saw it before i continued riding otherwise i would have been in A LOT of trouble and possibly life threatening.
so a fair warning to all my friends and members on here that ths guy lives in Kingston, New Hampshire and has a few blasters so hes probably on here.
Now id like to think when you promise someone the ski runs with no problem that it actually at least runs, the kicker is i never asked to be compensated for the money in parts i had to invest which wasnt cheap but did ask for $300 for a new hull which i think is fair. anyone agree?
