Ok so a little progress today….I mounted the new Skat 148. I ran a tap in the holes and used anti-seize and tried to do everything correctly. It's certainly not rocket science but I think when you have this much money invested and you have never done a build before it is a little nerve wracking as you run into issues. I did have to take a little off the plastic 144 pump shoe but that was easy. The holes didn't exactly line up at first but I have read enough to know it was gonna take a good bit of pressure to line it up. I used a ratchet strap which actually worked quite well. I was very worried about cross threading an insert! Can you imagine having to grind one out or use an insert to fix the mistake. Anyways I got it done. 2014-02-17 16.50.54.jpg

For future Chan owners the pump inserts are 10mm, 1.5 pitch and 25mm in length worked well. I had a whole tray of donor bolts and none were the right pitch. OEM is 1.25. 2014-02-17 13.03.54.jpg

This high dollar Skat uses a brass insert for a cooling on one side and the OEM on the other. I couldn't get a hose clamp to slide in between the hose and the crappy Skat welds. I'm gonna add a brass insert on the other side as well. Mostly so they match!!2014-02-17 17.11.35.jpg2014-02-17 17.11.40.jpg
