Bad Enhancer.
Try a different stator if you have one - Parrdaddy has posted in the past that some stators can make Enhancers appear bad when they are probably just more sensitive to the stator condition.

When I had a bad stator, it would only start messing up after it had been for a few seconds. I've never had an enhancer though, so I can't speak on that.

I have a couple of stock cdi's I could switch out actually. I guess I'll try disconnecting the stop connector first. Then I'll change the cdi. Then the stator/flywheel. I'll have to change both since I have a 61x flywheel/stator on it and the 62t stock setup I took off. Hopefully it's the start/stop switch.

What readings should I get from a voltmeter from the stator and do I have to check it while starting it or what?

I put my ski in the water today and it still wont start. The starter is turning fine but it just wont catch. Fuel is moving in the lines cause I can see it returning to the tank. Fuel is moving in the primer. The ski has compression. So now I guess I need to check spark but I've got to look at a house with my wife so it will have to wait.

It almost catches up but only right when I let go of the starter and just for a split second. Things that I'm thinking:

1.The stator came from a junk pile and although it looked OK I guess maybe it's not.

2.The used MSD Enhancer I bought over the winter could be bad.

3.The jetinetics flywheel is bad somehow with the magnets or something.

4. New plugs but the plug wires are old.

5. I have no idea and I'm just brainstorming here. Can someone help me out with some opinions or suggestions. I REALLY want to ride this thing!

open you electrical box, swap the 2 white wires.......

it can cause it to throw spark when you let off the start button.

The water is 50 yards away from my shop. I did check to see if it would turn over when I hit the start button though. I'm going out there to screw around with it in a bit. I'll update later.

I feel so privileged that I'm not the one standing in waist deep water with ski problems for once!!
Although I bet once you and Greg get your ski's going it'll be back to normal. lol

Tried disconnecting the stop switch...didn't work.

Pulled the ebox and checked the wiring on the Enhancer....it was all wired right.

Switched the to a 61x cdi I had extra....still didn't work.

I'm not positive that the cdi is good since it came from the same box-o-parts as the stator, but I couldn't use my old 62t cdi because the connectors for the 61x stator were different.

I guess it has to be the stator. Time to pull the motor apart again.

Bummer dude.... maybe one day :D

After you remove the old stator, do a very thorough inspection on the stator wires before you throw it out. Don't forget to look under the grommet to make sure nothign it torn or damaged under there too.

Look on the bright side...if it really is the stator, you may be able to justify the total loss you've been thinking about.

I know on the Kawi's there are some resistances in the manual that you can check to verify if it's good or bad. Should just be at the connector so wouldn't necessarily have to pull the motor.

how did you check the white wires? Did you swap them and try to crank the ski?? CDI's rarely die (talking about stock)
