I have been running my TBM for about a year now with my 760cc 61x standard stroke setup with a Concord 13/17. It made a big difference in hook up and it did not seem to hurt the bottom end snap. So far I like it and think it was worth the $$$.

Don't know about Gil's problems, I had good luck with mine. It does take some power to run it though, with the 5mm LPW motor I had I went from a 13/17 concord down to a 13/15 with the TBM. This was using an 85mm nozzle with both setups.

Yer set up sucks azz-LOL J/K, I was trying it w/o T/L and hated it. Now I am running a 10/16 -7mm Hooker w/wet wolfe cone and 85mm exit nozzle
and Thrust straight pull and I LOVE it. awesome hook up and mind bending quick revs. It does run out real dam fast tho-if u r lookin to drag race-this ain't the set up.

Thanks for the replies and experiences guys. I'm glad many have had good results from this. I'm getting my hopes up now that it will give me some more brap-snap!
I just wonder why this works well for some and not for others... just wierd.
Gil it sucked that much using that leg drag c-75 impeller? and did you run it with a 85mm bored pump nozzle? I'm sure you did, but just want to confirm. Did you ever try it with a regular impeller?

I'm gonna be putting it in here shortly and will post back my results with this thing. My pump nozzle is already bored to 85 and I'm gonna try my Skat swirl 12/17 -7 cut.

Thanks gil. I do like mine. I used it with the solas prop cutback 3mm and liked it. I then switched to legdrags mag impeller and my pump really started to hook. I ride more in the surf than flat. There is my experience with it. I would run it with the C-75 mag scat.

With every setup there is a combo that works,

ie: Bored Nozzles and Wetwolf stubby cone, It does not work on my setup, or at least my TLR setup, but it worked for SuperJETT (if I am not mistaken)

For Gil, It did not work, may have needed a single degree change in pitch and it could have come on line and worked really well.

Yamacat had one, did not really work for her.

Mag pumps can be the same way, it takes some R&D to find the combo that works.

I tried w/the TBM-
C75 12/17
Skat freeride 12/17 swirl
Solas 13/16
all 3 TBM cones
82mm exit nozz
85mm exit nozz
it all sucked REALLY bad
Now I am running a
oem pump
Hooker 10/16 -7mm
wet wolf cone
85 exit nozzle
and now I would not pay 50cents for a MAG pump because mine is doing soooo freegin good. I guess in years past I have been tooo dam lucky on set ups and things just always worked out right-not this year tho-LOL I have learned soo much this year that my brain is now fried. LOL I actually told Paul I would whoop his azz if he sold another TBM cone because of all the frustration I had(of course it was in a joking matter). Long story short is I ma glad some peeps are having success w/it, and I am even happier that I finally have my ski where I want it!!! BRAPALICIOUS!!!

oh yeah-the closest I ever got w/the TBM was NO end cone-u read that right-NO end cone. For grins n giggles-try your TBM w/no end cone. I am dead serious about the NO end cone trick.

i run my tbm with legdrag's c-75 swirl 12/17 cutback and the shortest cone with a 85.5 nozzle. zing!

same thing except i found i like the mid cone and stock nozzle.... but thats only cause i dont have a bored nozzle to try out.

i like the bottom end in flat water with the stubby cone, and i like the top end in the marsh at wot with the tall cone. but in the surf the stubby cone was too much on the landings and i kept flipping the ski back over on myself. and the tall one was too much that it would overload the pump on landings.

i found a happy medium with the mid cone.

the biggest improvement i found with the tbm setup is definitely hookup in the whitewater though.

this is on an otherwise stock motor with a mod b pipe, flow control, ADA head 35 cc domes@~180 psi, dual cooling, stock airbox

needless to say i will be buying one for my blaster along with one of those hooker props from impros.

i love my c-75 12/17 swirl on the sj but id like to try the 10/16 hooker out on the blaster incase i want to switch props between skiis.

Gil.what was the pump doing so badly that you thought it sucked? what were your experiences with it,im thinking of getting a tbm. Makes me wonder how many people could tell if they had a tbm installed on their ski in a blind test

I could pass the 'blind test' big time on my own ski w/or w/o a TBM cone installed. My ski felt as if I had a tennis ball shoved in the exhaust that would not allow the engine to rev freely. Is that a good explanation? It's about the best I can think of. The minute I ditched the TBM it made a night and day difference in my engine revving freely/quickly.
