It's funny because when you deal with a high end boat company, you never get the run around like you do with anything related to the jetski market. Whether it's apparel, jetski parts, jetski repair services, someone is always dropping the ball.

Just finally got my new JP7400 Jet Pilot boots... seem to run small and I dont like how the ankle area is open to the neo bootie... it will let in more rocks/sand :frown:. These are supposedly size 12 but the bootie seems like a 13 and the shoe itself seems like an 11. :banghead:

Have not tried them yet... too bad I couldnt have got them before Pismo.

I'll give a full report after I ride with them.

Well, after 4 months of waiting I finally have a pair of these new JetPilot Race Boots.

** My initial impressions **

1) Wow, they are really light.

2) *The sole is different when compared to the first design (prototype) JP7400 (look at original picture)

3) Technically, not a full ankle lace-up. But you can really snug the velcro ankle strap. Strap end faces inside, important for a stand up rider.

4) The lace feels cheap and may break easy.

5) Buckle that joins the 3mm neoprene sock and shoe together doesn't make much sense.

6) Rubber front toe protector is sano and is triple stitched to shoe!

7) Will the glued on sole delaminate?

8) Boot still fits well into my SJ foot-holds.

9) No metal eyelets.

10) Drain system will drain water but not sand.

11) Ankle bone "feels" more vulnerable.

12) JP size 10 fits just as my old Slippery "Large" did. If you can sometimes fit in the next 1/2 size up (street shoes), you may want to buy the next full size JP boot.

12) At an MSRP of $80 it meets my (max) limit of what a water should should cost.

13) Ohh, did I mention they are light

13) Tony Kwolek @ RivaMotorsports.com called me while on vacation in Cali to remind me the shoes arrived. Props to him for going above the line of duty and you guys should get with him next time you need PWC parts

* I think the reason why JetPilot took so long to release these boots is because they found the original (tan) sole design to be a problem. The production sole has 3 layers with an thick AVA dense foam pad glued to base and a rubber outer layer.

why not just use a wrastlin shoe??? 80$ is pretty rough for a shoe that will probably disintigrate into a pile of rubber and plastic in 2 weeks
:haha:

j/k.... hope they last for ya

Sanford,

How's the arch support and insole 'cushioning'? My old feet hurt after(sometimes during) riding in wrastlin shoes or cheapo watershoes because there is so little support in the sole.

Thanks

Because every time I see a wrestling shoes, I picture 2 guys rolling on the ground. It gives me the heebie-geebies - J/K. Actually, I started riding with ASICS but they didn't hold up. If I started using wrestling shoes now, my 8mm under padding would be too thin and my feet would rattle in the foot-holds....and I don't like the squishy feeling that the 24mm under padding offers.

I hear ya. I have broken arches (flat feet) and after 2 days on the water (from 9am to 5pm), I get shin splints. Between my 8mm underpad in tray and these shoes, I hope to eliminate it. These new JP boots have very little arch support and it only comes from the sole insert (pad). The shoe is a little narrow but this will help with the support. The pad is 1/4" thick and has a waffle design bottom to help with its drainage system. The drain system is actually pretty cool by design.

If these shoes don't work out, my next pair will be Vans checker high-tops (off the wall).
