The Penguin's beach house

I posted this in the Lone Star section but I wanted to post it here too.

Pengun, Moonie and I made it to CB via boat today to check out Shawns beach house where we have our biannual rides at.

It looks like a bomb went off. 3-4 inches of mud on everything at Crystal Beach.
3/4 of the beach houses are gone including Jubile and Sundial.
The house across from Penguins is gone and im sorry to say so is Penguins house.

Going down oneal road from the main drag I only saw one house on the right side of the road and just a few on the left. I was not able to make it down there, only Penguin made it past the cops.

Be sure to watch the ABC National news, Dateline, Good Morning America and ABC.com for the interview with Penguin. He helped carry a ABC news crew to CB

Shawn I am so sorry about your house. Words cant described how I feel for you bro.

One good thing is we did rescue a beautiful dog. She was stranted on a island and was so glad to have us pick her up. If we cant find the owner either shawn or I will keep her.

I just watched every video on abc.com about Ike, and didn't see the Birdman there yet.

The whole seen was absolutely devasting. I only have a couple of years worth of memories of Crystal Beach, but it was my home away from home. Shawn, I can't even begin to fathom what you & mom are feeling right now. I can't believe that just two weeks ago we were riding the waves of Gustav - now to see the whole landscape changed. But after all is said & done, we still have each other & somebody is going to have a beautiful new best friend, names Ikey....haha

I have no idea what the story is - why she got left behind. But it is just a reminder for people to make sure their dogs have id tags of some sort. But between the three of us, she will have a great home if he owner isn't found.

this really hits home for me. we lost our house on the water in Ivan. memories, are and will be for ever, the rest is just possessions.

i grew up there, my closest grandmother passed in that house, was married there, and still visit the area via the skis to enjoy what i knew was the best times in my childhood.

i can only offer you my sympathies and condolances

Sorry about your house Shawn. My friend's (who rides hondas and superjets) aunt has passed away during the event, reasons unknown so far, but she was pretty old from what I know. R.I.P.

Moonie, take the dog to the closest shelter or the vet clinic, she might be chipped (yeah, right, it's Texas after all, but there still might be a chance). It takes seconds to find out who the owner is if she's chipped. Otherwise, I can find her a new home in NY/NJ area.

Yes, we will try to find her owner, but she will be staying with one of us if the owner can't be found. I think all three of us got attached to her just in one short day:fing02:
