It looks like the last thing I need to convert my SJ back to a pole ski is bars. What riser bars are you guys running? I checked out RRP and want to see what else you guys run.

i have the rrp high rise an love them!!!! i dont smash my inner leg on them as much! keeps the pole low, you can adjust them for racing! move them forward for a small short track or back for enduro or just cruising around! an they look cool..
what i did was buy the bars an a adapter from blowsion the ones they use for the straight bars an just put it on a tbm plate..

I still dont get them. They seem like they would help you keep your pole lower, but not force you to lower your body along with it (which is the important part from what I gather).

I've never tried them though, and I suck so I may be wrong.

i dont see much benefit from mounting them to a standard turnplate but when using the complete rrp system the bars are almost on top of the pivot which takes the swing out of the steering, i have always hated that about standups. im sure they would suck for hood tricks and stuff like that but i love them for waveriding and they make it much easyer for me to side start in deep water.

I did the complete RRP steering with 50mm bars. I love them, everything about the set up is great!

Yamaslut did some riser mtn bike bars that Are about the same.

Like butti said the complete set up moves you right over the pivot and makes the ski a lot of fun in the surf.

I don't understand what you are saying.

when looking at the turnplate from above the bars are mounted almost directly over the steering pivot.on stock or even short steering the barmounts trail the steering pivot

the only other steering i have seen as short as rrp is wdk.

Assuming that there is an "optimal" area to keep the pole while riding, wouldn't riser bars be more comfortable for a taller rider? (I'm 6'6)

i dont like them, riding them i notice i cant get my hand down as low as i normally do so that messes with my balance. something that can get used to i guess, but why?other than that, they felt exactly the same as stantard bars. the worst part is climbing up on the ski with them. they make it so akward reaching up to climb aboard. stupid.
will these bars make you a better rider?
no.
