the trivial complaints thread

Leave it to CNBC to think fantasy football regulation is a topic worth debating on the GOP debates. The moderators are such a joke. I can't believe I am uttering these words but the communists at CNN did a better job at maintaining professionaliam while hosting the GOP debates. For fluck sake! The moderators lost this debate. So damn annoyed.

At least Ted laid into them.

Having to deal with people who are not nearly as important as they believe that they are, and having to do so with a smile.

Negative. Glorified lower level management with a chip on their shoulder. Difficult to explain the management structure... they are essentially below me, but a step above the managers I'm in charge of. They truly have a job that makes zero measurable difference in the company, but a title that would lead you (and themselves) to believe that they are highly important. I used to be one of them, and it was quite possibly the easiest job/position I have ever had. Now they just irritate the hell out of me.

My day today actually started at 2am.My son called and said he lost a drive belt on engine.lt was the alt/power steering (04 wrx) belt.Too late to fix last nite and l went to pick him up.Then took him to work this morning at 630am.Eight am rolls around, and l head to the Subaru store.Got the belt installed and drove it to make sure it was ok.l see smoke/steam coming from under the hood. That is ok,cause he told me he had a antifreeze leak and l thought l can probably figure out where it was coming from! But nooooo, there is a small fire burning on the header's!!! And l had just recently wrapped them with titanium header wrap.Got the fire out and had it towed to the subie store.Good friend of mine is a tech in the service dept.We looked quit a while, but never could find any gas leak (you could smell gas!),we did find the antifreeze leak.Just a loose clamp.

So the only thing we can figure is the antifreeze leaked on the header all night. The 50% mix of water must have evaporated and left the ethylene glycol to catch fire.Don't really have an explanation other than that! It will burn at 700° And it seems far fetched to me,but if anyone (no rookie answers please) has another explanation please give your 2 cents

I have had lots of subarus that will leak from the fuel lines where the rubber connects to the metal fuel rails, but its typically only in extremely cold weather. Any oil leaking onto the header wrap?

why is it so damn hard for Panda Express to learn that they should make 4 times as much orange chicken as everything else since they are constantly out of that every time anyone goes there?

No oil leaking Mark.He had a new turbo and fuel injectors installed a few weeks ago,so definitely suspect areas. But we could not find any issues related. And the shop that did the work is very reputable. The fuel smell is when you start the car,we have noticed that since the temp has been cooler you will get a odor of gas,but goes away very quickly.

What is your opinion of the antifreeze possibly igniting

Not too sure on antifreeze igniting, i have seen lots of cars with coolant leaks onto exhausts that never caught fire. I would be checking everything to do with those injectors. Did they use new injector seals? Are those the big sidefeed injectors in that one? My 04 forester has the sidefeeds, it could have a small leak somewhere that evaporates as it warms up. It gets hot down near the block fast, especially on the turbo side. I would check it really good while its cold and look for any fuel. Get your nose down on both sides and see which side smells stronger.

Ethylene Glycol ignites at 700 degrees. His headers run around 800 degrees.So....

lt goes back to the shop this week to figure it out.

San Diego airport. Worst airport I've ever been to in the US. Reminds me of Vegas. Except smaller, with less restaurants, less restrooms, less outlets and security to get from one terminal to the other. Terrible.

Ever been to Newark Airport? Pretty much the Walmart of airports as far as clientele and employees.

Can't say that I have. Most of my traveling has been west and central US. I've been to San Jose, LAX, Phoenix, Vegas, Denver, Santa Ana, San Diego, o'hare, midway, Indy, atl, Dallas, Dallas love field, Austin, bush, hobby... A few more I can't recall. Out of those, San Diego was the worst. Lax and Vegas are close runners up due to the number of people. But both of those airports you can escape to another terminal or area that is less crowded.
