The Whatever jet, Rags ski build

This started life as a square nose bottom deck and a wdk x-jet top deck and hood. The rear of the top deck was re shaped by Toby and got rid of the camel hump gun walls. Installed his foot holds and reinforce the tray for no foam. This was a pretty good project and ended up being a pretty lightweight hull. I will get numbers when I can, but feels more then half the weight of my old sn just from moving it around. Ski is headed to the paint shop tomorrow afternoon and should be done within a few days. I'll let the pics do most of the speaking. This has been a huge undertaking with the short amount of time I've had to finish by Daytona. There are lots of people to that for making this happen. Toby, OCD solutions, Oreilly auto parts, napa auto parts. Along with my very understanding wife and friends like addict and Harrison that have helped me more then I can thank them. It would never happen without you.
Now on to pics.

Painting the top a metallic purple and bottom jade black. Should have a real nice POP to it specially in the waves.

Had to loose those awful foot holds to. Have to give Toby credit for fixing the gunwalls. I hated the humps but didn't know what I do about it. Of course he did.

It looks like you chopped the wide section of the middle of the bond rail and chopped a couple inches off the bottom deck too. How'd you decide on an X Jet topdeck? I like that purple, totally unique ski all around.

I actually bought this project around 5 years ago. Before all the short backflip hulls. At that point the x jet was considered a cool a/m hull. Seemed like a good platform and was only a few hours away so I jumped on it. Things changed fast soon afterword.
If you are familiar with the x jet you will notice the big foot pads or bat wings missing. That's why there is a gap in the bond rail. It has been shorten a couple inches. Nothing crazy. It's unique for sure, but nothing real special. I like it and plan to ride the fire out of it.
Small update.

One step closer. Going to be down to the wire and probably finishing the day I arrive. I won't give up!

Its nice to finally see this thing being built. You shoild come up to the dells freeride in may.
I agree and everyone else that's helped me drag it around for the last several years. I would like to make the dells. Have to see. That month is my birthday and wedding anniversary. Already turned Daytona into a honeymoon might not be able to do that again in may :)
