The XS1200 will be released in early 2011. The web page below will outline the results of hundreds of hours of research and development on this highly anticipated project. Our XS1200 Development web page has photos of some custom engine components.

Follow our progress here: http://www.xmetalworks.com/XS1200.php

The engine features modified Yamaha 66E cases with a custom manufactured stator plate allowing the use of 62T style MSD electronics. The MSD TL ignition will bolt on with no additional modifications required. Carburetion will come from dual 49mm Full Spectrum carbs with a custom XScream intake system. No exhaust adapter is required for 701/760 style exhaust systems. This engine uses an 84mm billet crankshaft designed, built and balanced specifically for the XS1200 (Stroke 84mm x Bore 94.5mm/95mm).

94.5mm Bore = 1178cc
95mm Bore = 1190cc

We will be adding photos and updating details on this web page as the project moves closer to completion.

Please feel free to contact us with questions or to reserve your XS1200.

what kind of grinding/epoxy work will need to be done to the cases? are they going to have to be ground through anywhere?

The 1000cc already requires grinding through the 62t cases and installing an XS billet 'disaster plate.'

The 1200 is based on different cases however...

The regular 1000 is already nasty and has silly amount of power and torque. This new 1200 is going to launch a lightweight hull like a funny car!

VERY COOL!! I noticed the exhaust ports are offset, I assume that means you are putting a 62T flange on the cylinders?

What's that crankshaft weigh? Any chance it will be available separately?

When Chuck was telling me about this project down in Daytona, he stated this was the case so the Powerfactor / B-pipes could be easily adapted (but why would you want to run a B-pipe on a monster like this!? :ugh:).

Along with the MSD conversation plate, people won't be out a lot of money that want to make the switch (a lot meaning having to buy a new exhaust, new ignition, etc in addition to the motor).
