Why do you always have to go bring logic and reason into an internet conversation. Maybe I should take my keyboard instead. I seem to be much tougher when I'm using it.

P.S. don't underestimate the hockey stick. It has killed many a copperhead, ushered toads and snapping turtles out of our garage and is perfect for fetchimg those pesty items that always drift out of reach in the bed of the truck.

I am not suggesting to go out and spray your driveway right away, not sure what the gun laws are in Florida but here in Cali I know I would go to Jail if I do, UNLESS I can prove my life was in imminent danger. If you are being preyed by thieves then you better be prepared for the worse because sure enough they can be. Do you want to take a chance and walk out your door and yell...."Hey!!" yielding a Hockey stick or baseball bat? cause you could get a gun shove right up your face.

If you do not have a gun at Home, then stay inside and call 911 would be my best advise to you.

I totally agree with you, but it would be really hard to just sit in the house watching someone load my freak in the back of their truck!

one day i'll be fortunate enough to catch someone in the act. i'm a big guy and i enjoy a little confrontation every once in a while. i really miss my old freak. it had a lot of one off stuff that i haven't been able to duplicate yet. so much time gone

i knew two brothers whos mom padlocked the fridge...the younger kid would do anything for some scraps of food at lunchtime...

kinda weird now that i think back on it that nobody at the school noticed the kid went hungry every day and would let kids hawk loogies in his mouth for 50cents...

the older one ODed in jail a year or so ago and the younger one lives in some bushes behind a liquor store....both of them were really good surfers back in the day...not so much anymore..

It would be so hard to do this but you're right IMO. Catching a thief in the act can quickly go from bad to really bad. Crossing my fingers I never have to experience either.

As much as I love my Franchi 12ga, you would be amazed at how much damage can be done with a hockey stick.

I come from Canada so all my guns are of a hunting nature. I actually sold off all my guns when I moved to the US but could not part with the Franchi.
It is an I12 Limited and was my grandfathers prized pheasant gun.

Thats just straight up heartbreaking. This is the reason why we have thieves in our society. Some kids dirt bag parents never gave them a fighting chance. I would bet both of those kids would have turned out much differently if they had good parents. There should be a law holding Parents liable for how they raise/treat there kids.

Our door has a handle in the middle that drives two bars outward into slots in the track just like a deadbolt. There is no way the door is opening when that is engaged. I would love to find a way to engage it when we are not home too but we use the garage door 99.9% of the time so it would get annoying. For now we just lock it before we go to bed.

Great idea, but how often do you catch them in the act???? A sign in the yard saying trespassers will be SHOT would help unless you have to shoot someone and then it will work against you in court and you will be the one in jail.

If you are that remote then go back to the shotgun idea. If a thief dies in the forest and no one hears the shot, was he ever really there?
