It does look similiar, the more the marrier, drives the prices down.

Copies do more than drive prices down. They drive innovation out. People should be willing to pay more to buy an original over a copy. If builders invest many many thousands into R&D, materials and man hours, only to be undercut by someone who wants to make a quick buck with no real investment, there will be less R&D, less innovation, and less new products available.

I have no opinions on the hull. I didn't vote.

There are only so many ways to build a stand up and not have them look and perform very similar. A Silverado and F150 look and work pretty similar, but I'm sure we can all agree they are very different.

If it's a splash, that's bad. I doubt it is.
If it's been developed, modified, invested in, tested, and all the other steps anyone else who wanted to innovate a product had to do, and it came out with similarities, it's all peachy. Similar != copy.

Never buy a splash. It's bad for the sport.

So ive never knocked on them. But you seriously expect me to believe they came up with that intake on their own? As for the kdx. Pat did order and splash one of the first skis and on top of that the hood they use is one tem did years ago!

They might have come up with it who knows. There might have been some "inspiration" involved but most every part we buy has had "inspiration". Where did this intake idea come from?ROKR.jpg Now that I look at it closer that bottom deck looks familiar, lol. Could'nt we have this same discussion (with no real end) about all the twin tube hand poles available?

Yea the silverado and F-150 analogy was the first thing that came to my mind.
So let's say for argument sake that intake design turns out to perform like no other. Does this mean nobody else can use a similar design ever in fear of being a copy

Glad to see the ski clinic coming out with yet another design

Uhh Ohh...now you've kicked the hornets nest! Blob defenders...ENGAGE!
I'm just tired of the bashing. Apparently it's a superfreak splash now even though it looks a lot like there gen3.

It's just another superfreak owners thread talkin :):):):) about another hull company. We all just need to stop buying other hulls as they are no match for the almighty superfreak.

Btw I think the superfreak is a great hull just with some annoying fan boys

So does this mean that all you Freak owners are going to start supporting the Hurricane hull when a thread is started bashing how it rides?
I mean, if it's such a close copy of the Freak, wouldn't that be an insult to you guys if someone didn't like how the Hurricane rode?

There are certain characteristics to a flat water hull that work. Several manufactures have gone through multiple revisions of the hulls to get them where they are today. Obviously, as these hulls and the design/technology continue to progress, those common similarities are going to become more apparent between different hulls. Look at any late model MX bike, sport bike, or sled. They are all very similar in design with subtle differences that give the end buyer the option to purchase the one that best suits his/her style and taste.

Funny a lot of people feel the same way about The BoB army. No one can have an opinion about a BOB that is found to be unsatifactory to The BoB Army. In my opinion it doesnt look like a Gen3 or much like a Freak save for the intake tunnel and rear bond line. Just an opinion from my untrained eyes. Sure I'll be told what an idiot I am for having an opinion based on what I see. The hull builders all take from one another, somewhere someone did something first. So what, should we talk about annular discharge carbs or impellers or mag pumps next?

Pretty sure thats a new sakida hull. He said he was going to do it after seeing a circus in the uae. I could be wrong but that looks like his ski to me.

Looks like a hurricane to me. I can tell the difference when i look at pics and when standing at a distance. All sport cars follow a familiar design platform...so does everything else that gets built and used for a specific purpose. Ski boats, big azz couches, mx bikes, sport bikes I bet it rides similar, but still different in its own characteristics. I'm really looking forward to putting my feet in the tray of a hurricane sometime. Kudos to ski clinic and their efforts.
