Austin Jet Ski knows what's up.

Or have Johnny do it. He'll even leave some bolts and clamps loose for free. :sneaky:

So far I feel comfortable leaving my ski there, and he's not going to kill me on labor charges.

I can already tell ya you need a new sleeve then he has to port it to match the port job already done, new crank, either welded or new case pistons, ekkkk its lookin like some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have been talking to him about upgrading to a 760 since everything is in pieces and I have to buy new parts.... so we'll see what happens.

That's what we are thinking. I don't know enough about engines to jump to my own conclusions, but that's what the guy at the shop said.

My friend was in the middle of the lake, and he kept trying to start it over and over again. This is after falling down a million times. I had to wait for 10 minutes until I could get somebody to take me out there on another ski... I still need to get a bilge installed and I have a scupper valve, so it was taking in a lot of water also.

Sit & sink valves :banghead:

good luck... I know of a yellow blaster that has a good motor we could take. The owner never takes it out so he wouldn't notice

Joe knows Skis. He is good friends with my boss. If he dont take care of ya let me know. I just rebuilt his CRF250. I think hes gonna hit the coast next week with us too(trying to talk him into it). He just tuned my bosses ski and that thing ripps,he knows what hes doin.

I wouldn't fault the newbie this damage,it wasn't his fault. even if he did injest water do you think a starter could do this damage? definatly not. that motor came apart while it was running.

I seriously drown mine all the time, its been FULL of water, its stalled ( starter couldnt turn it over because of water in cylinder)

all that, ive never had any carbage like that from it.

You could be right, I don't know enough about motors to make any conclusions on my own. It all just happend so fast, and I am very stubborn. So it was easy to blame it on the newbie (the last person to operate it) :AR15firing: It's up and running again thanks to Butch,rmbc_freeride, and Joe from Austin Jet Skier. Joe did a great job, and it runs like a champ.

From looking at the pictures, what do you think could of caused this?

it looks like the piston siezed at high rpm and broke the rod. you need to find out why it seized so it doesn't happen again. my guess is overheated but I'm not an engine builder.

do you have pics of the piston with no water or goo on it? pics of the cylinder would be good too.

Wow, those pics looks as ugly as my X-rays. Go for the 760, going have to resleeve it anyway might as well make worth your while. A little porting too:brap:. Sorry for the Carnage, I know it's disappointing to have your new toy down. I have been there. Now I collect spare parts for just such an occasion.
