Work is starting to pick up and its putting a little damper on the project. I have the complete pump area alighned and bolted in. The firewall is also made and mounted in. We have the motor mocked in the ski and i picked up the alluminum i need to finish mounting the motor and to finish my new handpole and handpole mount. I also started the footholds. I was going to buy another set of waterdawg footholds to put in it but i decided to make my own since everything else on the ski i pretty much made. My friend who is building this with me also has all his fabric cut out and ready to build his bottom deck.

Ski weighs in at 57 pounds but its going to gain some weight as i reinforce some key areas. hood is ten pounds with baffle. my old handlepole weighs in at 5.5 lbs and i expect the new one to weigh 5lbs.

Yep. Someday I won't be so cheap and I will spend some money on carbon. I figure it's going to gain 10 to 20lbs after I do all the reinforcing, finish the footholds, and adding motor mounts.

Work took me completely away from the project the last week but I made some progress today. :Banane35: The plates for the motor mounts to bolt to are ready to glass in, finished a new handpole mount except i didn't have the right size drill bit for the air vent holes, and i have everything made for a new handpole which is going to be finished tomorrow. yeah!

I'm not sure what you mean by the pump intake track... I might sell my first one since I no longer have a use for it and they are simple and effective, super light and my favorite pole i have ever used.

I had help welding this one. I was going to sand all the welds down smooth and paint it but they look so pretty I'm just going to leave them. I almost finished the pole last night. I just need to grind the corners a little and drill and tap a couple more holes.

\I sprayed gelcoat in the bottom deck mold yesterday and we layed it up last night for my buddy's new ski. I also have most of the handpole finished. i just need to finish drilling the holes bigger were the handlebars mount to and then it is complete. We started the drains and the rest of the plumbing on my ski and it would have been finished but i need to buy some more one way valves and more alluminum pipe for the water lines.

The handpole and bracket is completly mounted. I really want to buy some new Blowsion Kommand Phat Riser Bars and it will be trick. The motor mounts and footholds are kinda on a stand still until my next paycheck so I can buy some epoxy resin and more biaxil fiberglass. Everything is plumbed except the exhaust which I need to buy some alluminum pipe for.

My goal was to be on the water this weekend but that will not happen. I ordered a basic 2 1/2'' alluminum pipe for my exhaust and it was suppose to be in over 2 weeks ago and still no exhaust. Guess that doesn't matter since the turf hasnt showed up yet and same with the fuel tank I had expressed shipped so it would be here by this weekend.

Really love seeing people building their own hulls. I know you haven't ridden it yet, but is it worth the effort? Or do wish you'd just bought premade hull?
I think there are a number of members that see folks like yourself building their own hulls and think "huh... I think I could do that..." I'm one of them, I just don't have the time to dedicate to something like this.

I did ride the hull. I was able to get couple quick rides on it last fall before everything froze up and I was really impressed. I'm still not sure if it was worth the effort after knowing how many hours it takes to build a jetski hull from scratch.
