GFlex is the bomb, I once fixed a 550 engine mount with it. The rubber and base separated I sanded it with 36grit and cleaned with acetone, then applied GFlex and clamped in vice. Lasted a full summer like that. You can also get the west systems aluminum etch kit which works really well with the GFlex.
JD,l have seen that 3M 4000 before but never have used it.Have you used it for a while and had good luck with it. lm always open to trying different bonding agents.l use the gflex on my hull inserts too and have not had a failure yet.
