Sucks to hear this Wilkey! If you find out who did this be sure to post on here! I was a nightclub bouncer for years and hearing this makes remember the trash I use to throw through the front doors and makes me want to bash the :):):):)ers skull that stole your stuff! Hope you find it!

Ok let's get a few things straight here.
Wavedaze has never had any problems like this before. This year the dates just happened to over lap with HBC week (historic black college week). Clearly the event will never be set on this same week ever again.

As for zimmys hood and pump. IMO it wasn't anything to do with the HBC week people. It was a rider that knew what he was taking.
Think about it this way, our mini quad and ruckus sat outside all night and were not touched. And those are 2 highly stolen things.

Couldn't have said it better about the town, wave daze as an event, or my feelings on the guilty party in the theft. Virginia beach is one of my favorite beach Towns and besides hbc week is normally an extremely safe fun town. The thing I'm normally worried the most about is not getting a ticket for my potty mouth.

Yeah, this situation sucks, but its definitely not a reflection of the event! The event was excellent as usual, well organized with great attendance.

But somewhere in that mix is a huge douche bag whole stole several hundred dollars worth of parts off my ski...

I'm moved by DASA power!
And to anyone who this may deter from coming to see what this awsome event that our crew looks forward to every year, This is a very unfortunate occurance, nothing more. It was very ethnically diverse in the area this year with a lot of the violence. BUT, that is in no way or form a reflection on the event. The timing is very unfortunate this year as far as other events going on within the city but Dan and the rest of the junkies run an exceptional event. Almost everyone had a great time with the only violence being with hitting bottom with your ski. As far as the theft of the parts I truely hope that someone either comes clean or someone rats them out if it is a jetskier. There was probably a combined 750k-1 million dollars in skis/equipment/semis full of parts/ just sitting on the beach without issue.

I got 100 DOLLARS to who ever says who comes foward and says who stole it.or at least mails back the hood and nose and pump to Craig.

This sports way to small for having shi! Like this to happen if some ones willing to steal a hood and nose peice what's next. Complete skis. No way this was some random guy from the street. They have no clue it it would have been a thrust hood. And the value of it vs a stock hood so if u see some one w a new thrust hood on a ski this yr let people know at least ask them where they got it from. We shouldn't have to worry about crap being stolen.

Yeah, definitely keep an eye out if someone around you all of a sudden has a nice new thrust hood, no matter what color it is. It has a few distinguishing marks, so let me know and ill PM details if you think something is fishy. Ill be happy to throw some extra cash at anyone with a lead. Hope to find out Wednesday on VB camera footage of the area.

X2. I'll throw up another hundo on top of Brad's as a reward for name/s and safe return of the items of the POS that steals from a fellow rider (if indeed that was the case, which 99.9% looks to be that way)

Sorry to hear about this. We will all be watching out for it, but it will be tough to find.
We all need to watch out for eachother's stuff at these freerides. I would like to think I can trust everyone on this site, but the reality is that there are always a few crooks lingering around.

Thanks guys! It sucks to be the victim on this one. I have seen a few similar threads and felt back for those that have lost parts. Being in those shoes now straight up sucks!

Gas cans can be stolen by anyone, though. There were a bunch of those taken at Surf Slam in Pacific City, of all places. LOL anyone who knows that town knows how silly that is.

This sucks. I had 2 gas cans jacked sometime on Saturday I think. One was full. It was college beach week down there and the streets at night were crazy. Just read the Virginia beach news.

I'll definitely keep my eye open for the hood, nosepiece, and pump. Feel bad cause they are expensive parts.

The wavedaze event ran well overall. A few points could be improved. Maybe a camera on the ride area over the weekend to deter thieves. Truck/trailer unloading and loading at 10th street accesscould have been directed a little better.

Still enjoyed the weekend and look forward to future events.

Sucks to hear about this. When I was at the Daytona freeride I was surprised that "nothing" was stolen. I wouldn´t leave my stuff unattended like that here in Sweden, I've had a ski stolen from a locked garage years ago. I hope you get your stuff back!

I hope it was mixed 32:1 and was 110 avgas so whatever schmuck puts it in his car destroys the engine.

It might be a good idea to have a temporarily fenced in area to store the ski stuff with a few guards checking IDs. I was loading up my skis during the raffle and there was nobody to be seen or even asking if the skis were mine. Could have easily loaded up a few more, or nicer, skis and dipped out. That might be cost prohibitive though...

Put a fee on storage. I can't see anyone refusing to pay $20 to have their skis watched at night.

And what happens if something gets stolen out of storage anyways? Who is going to pay up?
