i have no doubt good people were there and it was an awesome event, but if i were there my skis would go back in my trailer. and i'd stay in a hotel a half hour away. just not a type of place i want to be.

Half those people wouldn't know the difference between a hammer an a screw driver..

agreed, like i said if the pump was in the ski, it was a rider. like they knew what tools they'd need or even have the tools to do it. i think it was a fellow rider or someone mechanically inclined. so im guessing the security dropped the ball?

It is just disconnecting the steering cable two pump lines and four bolts but in the middle of the night not knowing what you are doing it might be tough
Was there any signs of damage or was it a clean removal? Think about it, they would have to be prepared and bring the appropriate tools to pull it off in a somewhat short period of time and without a lot of racket. I could see a random hoodlum snaking a hood but probably jut to throw it off an overpass. Someone who targeted the pump I think would have to possess prior jetski knowledge.

Sorry to hear about the theft. Hope it's resolved

According to the guy who got us our rental house, this weekend was part of an annual "black week" at Virginia beach. I didn't believe him until we went out Friday and Saturday nights... saying we were the minority would be an understatement.

On more than one occasion in traffic I saw girls get out of the cars and shake their a$$ to the music and get back in when the light changed. So yea, I didn't believe it either when I was told about the beach weekend myself until I went up the strip a few blocks.

Yeah, this was a huge blow to the weekend. B1Travis parked his trailer in the gravel lot with my hull on it. The hood was taped to the ski along with the nose piece and there was a ratchet strap over it also to keep it on. The pump was inside the engine bay as this was a hull plus parts sale to be delivered to FL after Wavedaze.

Anyways, turns out Travis found the hull on the trailer, ratchet strap removed, tape sliced with a blade and the thrust hood, nose piece and the pump section missing.

I filed a police report, lucky for us the police officer was an ex-racer, friends with some of the local riders from back in the day. They will be pulling camera footage from surveillance in the area and will let me know if they caught anything around the area. Hopefully we will have something on tape.

Really bummed, as this puts me out of pocket a pretty penny. I would like to think it was someone outside of the jetski community, but it seems as though they knew what they were looking for....

Here is what we found Sunday morning, and a pic of where the trailer was parked.

Seems to me like someone specifically took the very items that are worth the most with the least hassle. That doesn't sound like some uninvolved street gangster looking for quick cash.

Sorry - calling it as I see it, the thief knew exactly what he/she was going for.

It might seem sad to think this way, but the tape was a clean razor cut, the pump would have been on top of a few other parts in there, so would have been the first thing in sight after the hood was pulled.

this is some real bull:):):):) right there!!
we will all keep our eyes open to see if anything turns up...I hate thieves :(

Ok let's get a few things straight here.
Wavedaze has never had any problems like this before. This year the dates just happened to over lap with HBC week (historic black college week). Clearly the event will never be set on this same week ever again.

As for zimmys hood and pump. IMO it wasn't anything to do with the HBC week people. It was a rider that knew what he was taking.
Think about it this way, our mini quad and ruckus sat outside all night and were not touched. And those are 2 highly stolen things.

Any type of theft boils my blood, but to anyone discouraged about going to the event in the future, it was a blast. We're still driving back to Michigan as im typing this and it was totally worth it. Great riding, partying, and people. Even if the hbc was in full effect.
