Tigercraft Aquabot V2 build

image.jpg This is my LTD pole. Weld broke trying to learn FW backie. Every time I try to save a buck, I end up breaking the cheapo part then buying a good one and having to install it again! I'm going to get smarter here and just get the good stuff right off. So now I'm putting on the nice Aura pole I got with the hull from Tigercraft.

So far in 20 hours, I've broken the mid shaft carrier (prolly my fault messing up line up) blown a water box, broken the plastic battery tray and then a battery cable, ate pump bearings (prolly my screw up pressing then in poorly) now busted a cheap pole. Still only getting about 200 degrees rotation in my attempts to FW backflip. Trying to hang the embarrassing footage but having file extension issues

This makes it worth it.. that I'm taking my time and ordering all the right parts slowly , my hull arrives this week and I could probally have it running within a week with used parts laying around , but I've done that before and was always broke down...

That's sh*tty that your pole broke though

I was taking out my mid shaft carrier (battery and tank out and moved engine forward) and was thinking about another Chinese carrier when I decided I'd pay $100 bucks to not have to change it again in the near future, so I replaced it with a Cold Fusion one. I worked the pump line up/shimming exactly so hopefully it will last a couple seasons!

Changing this pole is goin to be a pain. Excited to put on the Aura pole. I might try re welding the old one and then using it on an old square nose experiment.

The top (base plate?) where the steering plate bolts on is adjustable. You can change the angle to raise or lower the bars. It is drilled for UMI style steering but OEM will fit if you get/make a bushing like the x-metal comes with. Stock steering bushings fit in a 1" ID hole and this pole is about 1 1/4 " hole. Fit and finish is really nice but the cable stop doesn't fit my blowsion HD steering cable. Came with pivot bushings and chin pad. The particular pole is from their first run. Tony told me they have made some improvements but I didn't ask what they are. So far the only thing I can see that should be changed is the steering cable stop. I'll post a couple more pics when I get it on the ski or start a product review thread on it (to moderators: the new forums of product reviews are awesome! kudos to the folks posting objective reviews)

Here are a couple of my first back flops/attempts at backflip before I broke the LTD pole. Long way to go (like about 120 degrees and a little more height) but not too bad of a start. constructive criticism is requested… It is amazing the perspective of watching a video of yourself. You see all kinds of things you don't know you are doing (or should be doing)!

I'm impressed that you rode that second one out, lol, I don't know how that was even possible.

well the second one is really closer to a shoulder roll than a backie (not really either…) so the ski started rolling as soon as it hit the water and help me turn over. I didn't really come back over my body, it was really off to the side a little. I've been so focused on staying in the footholds that I was still in them and just bliped a little throttle to bring the ski back under me. And, at my skill level, there is a lot of just doing something, see what happens then react. Prolly couldn't repeat it if I tried! Got the new pole on this morning so hopefully I can coerce wife or son to video some more attempts with the new pole and the short ride plate. Maybe something will change?

^ X2. Im not sure there is enough motor/pump there to do a 180 slide to back flip... you may have better luck with a set up wake. Either way, looking good.

thanks for input!

I've been wondering/thinking that too based on my lack of height and what I've read. It is a JM735 (bored, freestyle ported, ADA head) with 37 domes in the head, single 46 carb. pump is solas 144 mag but stocker 62T nozzles and a impros hooker 10/16 impeller. With my skill level though it is difficult to tell what is lack of timing/skill and what is lack of thrust. I also tried a couple off my setup wake and I got more height but less rotation. My timing sucks though and I'm working on better consistancy on the setup wake. I've only been working it two short sessions so not much data to work with yet.
