Tighter pole

I'm trying to eliminate the spring in my pole and just run the pole tight but I don't know if I can with how thick my bracket is. Would running two bolts, one on each side work?

Well first why would you want to do that?

But then I remember I have been on a ton of skis set up like that.

And I remember how much I hate a super tight pole.

All that being said you SHOULD be able to eliminate the spring and run the pole tight, you should also be able to run 2 smaller bolts (one on each side). I think thrust or Xmetal sells something similar.

Just want to try something a little different

I run a spring and tighten the pole a little, this way the pole doesn't weigh anything and stays where I put it. Best setup IMO.

I agree. I went back to spring and snug...after years of very tight pole. Heat that spring up and make it even stronger...then tighten it a little....

I guess the bolt is bottomed out? Never seen that before, replace bushing and/or add stainless steel washers to the bolt side.

It should tighten unless something else is wrong like mentioned ^^.
I can't get mine tight enough with just one wrench.

To get it as tight as needed you'll have to use 2 wrenches. A 7/8 combination open/box, box end on bolt then another 7/8 open/box, box end into open end of first wrench making it twice as long and crank it down. I think mine are craftsman so they are fairly long, not medium long like some of the cheap china wrenches

I use wrenches so I don't have to take the noise piece off and I can make quick adjustments at the lake

If you want a snug pole and a spring then you need to make a spacer thay fits between the spring and bolt. This way when you tighten it the spacer gets pinched instead of putting pressure on the bracket

He doesn't need to do that sleeve on the stock Rn bracket and poll, it's works just fine stock and gets hella tight with the 2 wrench method with decent bushings..., both boats here are run this way with no issues

If he wanted to take the time to trick it out then ya that's an improvement or could help with an unknown issue

For me the first step is inspect the bushings best you can while mounted and tighten the bolt with 2 wrenches, If it tightens ok now your done

For RRP I like your sleeve you made, if I add a spring to my RRP I'll try that

On my foot rocket with RRP pole, I don't have to tighten mine much for it to become stiff, just one short wrench does the trick. Spacer tubes are great, until you ride in the ocean and they corrode to the pivot bolt and then you have to cut it apart, no fun.

remember to not tighten it to much in the winter when it's cooler. My pole goes from lose to snug in one morning of 40 degrees to a day at 60's.

I run snug pole with a spring, still gives you easy movement but stays where put it for the most part.

Jettarded is driving me crazy. I am his dad. No we did not find the exact diameter bolt. He put a couple of washers in there too. It tightens up but when he moves the pole up and down the bolts pivot with the pole and loosen them selfs up. Still not sure why he's doing it. He's acting Jettarded.
