good idea, but remember, a 3/4" pipe is only going to flow "X" amount of water....... whereas a 2" pipe will flow "X +++++" more water.........
would not mind one on the SXR.
But my duck bill does not leak even after 4 years.

i really think i wanna do one as a scupper looks very interesting..i dont wanna do a regular scupper cause i like to chill in the middle of the lake alot and dont wanna have to run my bilge constantly

whats wrong with running the bilge?

I ususally run mine from the moment I launch until I pull out for the day......hell, sometimes it even runs all the way home :veryhappy:

I did the same when I ran two 800 bilge pumps and never had battery issues. Then again, I always ran total-gain ignitions so...

However, these (or duckbill) are a perfect addition to a bilge pump because a pump never completely empties the hull and the little a water that splashed on a hot pipe generates hot steam (stealing some power away).

Not ideal for a SJ but I would never run a B1 without a duckbill or something like this.

HEY!!! THANX to everyone that is running our plugs. We have a scupper size
valve coming out very soon. I am happy to answer any and all questions. We are so excited to be able to produce and sell something, that has a lifetime warranty, flows better, doesn't get knocked off, doesn't leak, AND COSTS LESS!

To answer a few questions:
They stick out only about a 1/2" past the stock plug end, and only about
1/4" past the buck bill adapter after it fall off. As far as hitting them
with my knees, that was a concern the first time we tested them. We went
out in the surf and had 10 foot swells, I spent allot of time in the water
that day, HAHA, we have also been running them all season and never once hit them.

would it be possible to make the scupper sized one so that it mounts internally - leaving basically a flush surface on the back end of an SJ similar to scuppers that we have now?

We have the scupper unit coming out very soon. Give me your email address and I will let you know as soon as it hits the market.

Thank you

Chris

Has anyone ever expieramented with something like this on a hood to keep the water out? Something that would close shut when you sub or w/e and block out the water from entering the hood.

I was thinking, when making a custom hood liner...

Instead of making one solid sheet and cutting some holes in it so the water feeds from the back...

Use some 2" PVC with a one way valve. Use 2 or 3 of these to feed an air box in the hood (like the stock) and then the airbox can use a tube like the stock set up to let the air in. The Stock hoods use 2 2" rubber tubes to let in air. I figure, if you use 2 or 3 tubes with one ways in them, the engine could get plenty of air, and when you sub, the one ways would force close.

This wouldn't change anything. It can't get air underwater anyway.

I was going to try this but I blew up my ski. No reason to put a hood on something with no engine. hehe. Has anyone tried anything like this? Sound like something you might try? Works in theory. I'm going to try it when I get my ski running.

i didn't come up with an origional idea, did I? ********, I should have patented it. =\

some one had these for sale...

seemed like an interesting idea. would eliminate the need for one ways and stuff...

The Flow-Rite air plates works well in a racing application when put high on the hood/body of a runabout. They allow extra air and block most of the water splash directed to it.

However, you should NEVER use these as a replacement for a scupper/duck/one-way drain system. Especially below the waterline. I wouldn't even put the Flow-Rite's on the hood of my SJ.
